LightsInTheDarkCover.pngWhat is Lights in the Dark?

In Lights in the Dark you explore a dark forest to find firewood to keep your campfire alive. You can place torches to help light your way but be careful as these torches will consume some of your campfire fuel. Once you find firewood bring it back to your campfire to refuel it. While exploring look for a series of pages left by a strange traveler to uncover a small story.

Controls:

  • Move = WASD
  • Jump = SPACEBAR
  • Place Torch = Left Click or E
  • Fuel Campfire = Right Click On Campfire (when you have fuel)
  • ESC = Quit Game

Note:

Lights in the Dark was created for Ludum Dare 46 using Unity. We are both pretty knew to Unity so we may have made some mistakes in terms of optimization. It was really fun though and we learned a bunch of new things! Anyway thanks so much for checking out our game!

Created Using:

  • Unity

  • Blender
  • Substance Painter
  • Substance Alchemist
  • Photoshop
  • (we made all of our own models and materials)

Nice game, I just wish there was a way to pick up a torch if you don't need it anymore. It's a small detail tho good job!

Couldn't seem to refuel my camp sometimes. When I lost I couldn't press play again :(
Music is very relaxing and slowly lighting everything up is quite more entertaining that it looks like.

The sounds are honestly breath taking... Atmosphere of the game is great... only the mouse is too sensitive and jumping is like on the moon... still very very GOOD GAME

A cursor to see where I aim would have been nice, and an extended range on torchs, but these are minors issues and the game is beautiful, the sound is perfect, and I liked the idea of progression, with the lugs hidden in trees (I was wondering at start why the jump was so "low gravity"), and it fits the theme perfectly

I call this one the "Campfire Song Song".
Let's gather around the campfire and sing our campfire song.
Our C-A-M-P-F-I-R-E S-O-N-G song!
And if you don't think that we can sing it faster, then you're wrong.
But it'll help if you just sing along!

Great mood! I realy enjoy to play this game. I would prefer, if the torches would have a bit more light radius. :)
