Pixel Pandemic by LKAccidental

[raw]
made by LKAccidental for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

A virus has infected your pet dog Rufas. Only the Government has the cure. Are you willing to fight your way through run down New York, flooded with FBI agents, and journey through the sewers fighting mutant rats, to find the cure?

This was our first time making a game, not only for a game jam but also just for fun.

Hope everyone has fun (Even if its a bit glitchy)

Pretty sweet game, but the difficulty curve was a bit unstable.

P.S. There is a tag specifically for Ludum Dare on Itch. It adds a notice on your Itch page that redirects to the submission.

I agree, the difficulty curve as a bit weird. Graphics were nice, though at first I was a bit confused if it was a rat or a dog, because of the tail. Maybe some tiny, simple animations with not too many frames would have helped there too. Anyway solid first game!

Overall very nice looking game, very fun to control and the shooting was intuitive, even if it was a bit of a difficult game.
A suggestion I have may be to work on a wee bit of audio balancing, when every enemy shoots at the same time it really blows out my headphones, gives me the big ouch.
But solid game, lots of fun, Rufus is a good boy.

Nice entry. Sometimes i stuck and can't go because Rufus didn't want to go from my way. And I just tried to save him:(

Rufus gets between me and the rats and I end up accidentally shooting him. I don't know if I can hurt him but I feel bad. Then the rats get him cause he was in the way and I feel worse. Over all pretty good first unity game!

This was your first game? Nicely done. Controls are straightfoward and intuitive. I found that the best strategy is to just keep moving. A small graphical improvement that would go a long way is to have rufus and the rats face the direction they are moving.

Congratz on your first game/ludum dare!

Pretty good for your first time! Rufus(Rufas?) best doggo of jam. Would be nice of Rufus/rats moved they faced. Got the hang of it pretty fast but also got a bit unfair in terms of difficulty really fast too.

All in all, needs a bit more polishing a balancing.
