In the unlikely event that a bug eyed, mandible flailing, killer alien should accost you.
Shoot it and don't ask questions; they won't.

===========================
Adam and Eve is a PS1 styled top down shooter with robots, babies, and killer aliens that want just want to eat your face. It is a lovely face and it would be a terrible shame if something were to happen to it.
So, give it a download and let us know what you think in the comments below!

I second what Magus77 says, the spider-like enemies are incredibly fast haha. Might need to tune them down a little, but I enjoyed this.
Thanks for the game!
All in all, I found this a fun game and I'd love to see more of it.
Really great visual style, the 3D retro-ish feel you were going for was completely achieved. The animations, the colors you chose, the lighting, the camera movement to reveal what's important, everything is just perfect.
The audio is amazing, the music is hectic as it should be - it implies a kind of urgency which is what you want, the baby's life is at stake :-) The cue when I drop the baby, the crying, that is an immediate feedback on my actions. It is so very clear and distinguishable from the other sounds that I know what to do. Actually the first time I did not visually notice that I had dropped the baby but it was clear by the sound. The choice to make it stand out like that is spot-on. The most important thing is the baby and you always know when you dropped it.
Everything about this game is so clear and created with intent. The level design - you show me one mechanic after the other, first you show me how to open a door, then how to open a door that is heavy, then the cradle. And step by step you make me understand the four symbols that I need later. You start off by just showing them all to me, then you make me press a button twice (or was it three times) to change one symbol and with all that I am able to solve the final stage. Really great progression, excellent game design!
The same is done for the shooting. I first enconter two spiders, then more and I am taught to temporarily drop the baby to shoot. At the same time I find out in a manageable situation that I stand still while shooting so I can make decisions as to when and where to put down the baby reasonably. Again, your level design and progression is top-notch!
The puzzles intermixed with the action of shooting spiders feels really good, well-balanced. The final stage, the run-way with the spiders was hard, I tried it three times to make it. The last time I chose the strategy to just ignore the spiders, run to the door - chased by six spiders - and just open it. I would get knocked down but the door still opens. This seems to be a glitch, opening the door should probably be aborted (unlike the baby) when I get torn to pieces. But by "abusing" this I was able to just open the door, get knocked down, stand back up, get the baby and move it. This was the easiest way to solve it :-)
Overall a real gem, awesome work for a LD game with such time constraints. I assume you are professionals and have a lot of experience and discipline in what you do. Hats-off to you three, my deepest respect. You are true artist.
The enemies feel unfair, they're fast and relentless, while my character is slow and clunky feeling. I can't outrun them, and trying to stop and shoot doesn't seem effective either. It's like you wanted me to used the baby as a meat shield lol WHY!
This game is amazing. One of the best implementations I've seen of the 'fish survive out of water' concept I've been seeing a lot. Mostly because there's a lot of choices to be made. Some realizations I had over time were:
- Screw single gun gunplay. Yea the baby takes more damage but the firing rate is too rough
- Make sure to pick up baby while operating consoles, to save on HP even more
- That final run was pretty challenging. Eventually I decided to shoot at the bugs as early as possible. And once I got to the gate I would just drop the baby to tank hits while I opened it lol. Btw that baby can tank alien hits LIKE A G
So in the end this game had very fun puzzles and level design. There was tension at all times because of the baby and short levels, but also I really liked how RNG played into the game. Some fights would go well, others I would break apart easily. That variation in gameplay made it REALLY stand out against other games like this, because it wasn't just a repeat-improve loop. There was that bit of tension as to whether the run was gonna go right or not. Great job!

Great entry! It set a mood straight from si-fi horror movie. I am usually not that good with horror settings in games though, but this game worked for me.
The game could have used some kind of introduction, telling you what your aim is. At the beginning i didn't really know what i am supposed to keep alive, then i saw this ekhm beautiful baby :) i secured it and put it into healing machine. But wasn't sure why i should pick it up and go further instead of keeping it safe there.
Once there was a bug where i killed every monster and picked up a baby but still couldn't cross gate. Time run out and happily auto save re-spawned me just before that room. So all hail to auto-save!! Nice feature!
Overall i was super impressed with level of details you managed to put into your game. Graphically and mechanically it was all top-notch.
The shooting was okay, I found that I absolutely needed to put the baby down if I wanted to fight off monsters, a couple times trying to hold and shoot and I was unable to defend.
I'm glad that you are given a chance to remedy the situation by allowing the player to be put back together, however, when surroudned by 4 enemies, It was near impossible to fend off any attacks and the robot was shortly blown apart again and the game was lost.
Really good idea, i'm glad that you guys are continuing work on this project and look forward to seeing it in future :)
So again, great job on making this great game!
