The Bodyguard by KynanTokoro
7-Level platformer. Escort the VIP-tofu to the exit. Don't get caught by the guards.
Try to use headphones or speakers if you can, I've spent a fair amount of time in making the SFX and music.
Tools used
- game-engine/framework -- love2d
- IDE/code-editor -- Visual Studio Code
- Tilemap Editor -- Tiled
- Image Manipulation Software -- Aseprite
- Music/SFX -- hardware ( juno-6, DX7, Teenage Engineering PO-35 ) software ( Ableton, openMPT, Audacity )
I've used my code-base/game-template to make this game. It's on my github page. All of the assets are made by me.
Any feedback is appreciated, thanks.

Too bad the menu music doesn't play more in the game, it's really great!

[Edit]
Nevermind, after some testing, found out it's a mechanic that I feel wasn't communicated that well to me at the start. Beat the game though, I liked it! Loved the pixel art and audio. I didn't think it was that difficult, although I would've preferred the triple jump to be less "heavy" and easier to execute.
Also, instead of a series of actual levels, is there a reason for placing an empty vertical level in the middle? Just curious about the design choice.
Regardless, in the words of VIP-tofu, 谢谢!
The empty vertical level was suppose to be a break or something, maybe changing the tempo of the game? I sometimes feel tired when there's level after a level non-stop. Also I thought it would bring some "depth" to the world, with a very low cost of implementing a level.
You can find more info on my postmortem blog post for my game. (It's in Japanese so maybe use google translate?)
