Love the game.

The connection is a little lacking, as its more like a fetch games, but I did like how it was another approach to a more defense heavy theme!

Maybe work on getting more interesting backgrounds, that could help alot

What i like about the game:

- Music
- Progressive unlock ability & back tracking. Feel like mini take on metroid
- The ending where you get to the top, you doesn't gain anything but getting to the top itself is an achievement. Very cool

What i think would improve the game:

- Perform action midair (i.e attack, throw vine)

A very nice entry! The art style is just great. The gameplay is pretty well done. Only problem with it I had was the damn bats - since you can only attack left or right while standing on the ground, dealing with them was problematic. Perhaps the attack hitbox could be expanded to reach targets a bit above and below you? Or maybe you could get an early upgrade that allows you to attack while you're mid-air?

All in all, a great compo game. I only reached the third plant, but I will definitely play it again and try to get further. ;)

Lovely little short metroidvania here. I would love to see this expanded. I appreciate how you kept the game's difficulty down by making the flowers a health equivalent. I was entertained all the way up until the end and then...well - meh. I was really hoping for a fantastic finish.

Really fun game. I really love how the level opens up to you as you go on and how the sprites and tile placement do the work of explaining how to make past it without showing the player any text. Really innovative and fun, control felt tight and responsive but the keyboard layout was somewhat awkward, sound design was great too. I wish there was more of it.

Awesome game, had lots of fun! I hope you continue this project, very good level design, fun music, nice graphics. The only thing I think it needs is a background and a menu. Other than that, very solid entry!

This was a cute little game! I thought the graphics, music, and sound effects all worked well together, and the progression got surprisingly deep. The ascent at the end was a good start to the finish, but maybe fireworks or something would really enhance the ending. The only other thing I felt might be missing was being able to attack while in mid-air, particularly for the bats or for the jellies that are on a ledge.

Nice entry ! We had fun playing it for sure. The audio and graphics are a very nice match and the controls are snappy, as they should be for a platformer. Great job ! Thank you for making this !

Nice little platformer. I like that the character looks UP when he jumps. Thats a funny idea.

Absolutely great work. I never thought I'd have so much fun playing a 48 hour metroidvania. My only real issue is that the difficulty curve is whack. The first two plants are trivially easy, but the third is a nightmare! But that's not a big deal, there really isn't a good way to balance difficulty with a game this short. As for the rest of the package, this is probably the best music I've heard this LD, and the graphics are very easy on the eyes. Top notch work, well done.

I love platforming hack and slash and I'm surprised it's the only game I've played in this jam with that gameplay. What's more surprising is that it's a metroidvania and a really polished one at that. Great job on those sub-level designs! The choke points for the bats and the delayed slimes activation were clever. Might not be the most original gameplay but hey, I can't get enough metroidvanias, and this entry made me happy :)

Such a well polished game! Impressive how you managed to do that in just 48 hours :)

That was really cute! Thanks for ending the game on a huge cliff I could jump off of, that was satisfying ahahah
It was really fun, wish there was a little more to it!
