Vampire Problems by Nuckelavee13

TO HEAR THE SOUNDS AND MUSIC: pause the game and turn sound on to hear it
What the hell is that? Garlic Sales? Freelance ghoul hunters? Pity gongfarmers who ruin you Crypt Bat Farm? You gotta sort the problems of the vampire in distress trapped in its own castle. And get uninvited guests out of your coffins.

The basic mechanics are a bit confusing since there are no indicators for how far your attack reaches. Also, the balance between enemies was a bit off. Crossbow enemies can pick you apart from the other side of the level with ease while most melee enemies just get kited for free.
Overall it's nice, cute game jam title. Good work!
It lacked music, it's so sad ! It also lacked connection to the theme IMO.
I've got the same comment than @scharma about the range of ~~Hades~~ the vampire.
Great art otherwise.
Fair points, @vem @scharma
Hm, loss of music is definetely a bug, I made it by myself =(
I also had problems with the attack controlls.
Can you probably explane how you interpreted the theme? Sorry I cant really find it^^
But all in all very nice.
@kevin-meissner Most of us were inspired by recent Hades and its die-reborn cycle.
So we wanted to make a game with some Egypt (redemption) and Christian (ashes to ashes) themes.
And the protagonist were meant to flee from his cursed legacy and be repeatedly killed by its former servants to wake up in its coffin again and again.
Althou, there was going to be the End - the vampire breaks free from the mansion and die in the sunlight of early morning (to possibly wake up in the crypt again).
But, we worked a lot of time to random generation of rooms and enemies so we didn't have enough to integrate the narrative part.
However, it is too bad that there are no sounds at all, it would have given a better ambiance to the game.
Overall gg for your work!
Lack of any sound is a bug we missed before release.
Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa
Will edit in my thoughts about the game after I've finished.
Edit: So the game is good! Graphics are good, sound is good, good mood and its pretty fun. Nice Variety of enemies and traps, though feels like some balance issues. Most traps feel very easy to avoid and some enemies seem to do no damage (priest for example). Also it unfortunately crashed after roughly 10 rooms so I'm not sure if the difficulty ramps up or if there is any new content after that. The archer was by far the only real danger I encountered.
I think what the game most needs is more clear attack animations for both the vampire and enemies.
Anyway good job!
My major problem with your entry is player feedback, I never knew when I was attacking or if my attacks actually landed, same for the enemies attacking me, never knew exactly what was going on with the attacks. Get that feedback going and you're on the road to getting a great game going here.
