Donuts On Donuts by SlimmerBurger

[raw]
made by SlimmerBurger for Ludum Dare 47 (JAM)

After seeing the theme, I'd decided I wanted to make a driving game of some sort. But, I was really hungry, and that made me think of donuts. So... Of course I decided I'd make a game where you drift a car on a donut.

So, you do donuts on donuts!

Donut Capture.PNG

Dodge and drift past randomly generated fruit and try to do as many complete donuts as you can before you crash!

This is the first fully 3D game I've made for a game jam, and it was a bit of a hassle, especially with the modelling. But I like how it's turned out.

I'd love to hear some feedback. Thanks for playing :)

Well this game is doNUTS (~huh?). Love the crash sounds (is that your voice? :D ). Graphics are awesome and donutting as well. Breaking all the time made the game significantly easier, maybe there should be a time limit for a loop? Great mini-game!

This is really amazing for something done in such a short time. Great job! The only point of criticism I have is that I wish when I pushed Space to restart it restarted as opposed to bringing me back to the main menu.

Fun little game. The odd camera angle makes evading the objects surprisingly challenging which is nice!

Yeah that is my voice @prostone, I just made pew sounds into the mic XD. Adding a time limit is a good idea, wish I'd thought of it, I spent the whole time boosting when I was testing, so I didn't think all that much about the brake.

@bellringerquinn, again, I should've thought of that... It does make more sense to restart instead of going back to the main menu.

And thank @pixelpaw :D

I liked it! The graphics were nice, and audio was really charming. It was kinda easy to crash into banana, but lol, I am not even mad.

I love these types of endless dodging games. This one in particular is extra hard because of the perspective, but that just makes me want to try harder. I thought I'd figured it out and gotten in a flow a few times, but the game just kept throwing weird combos at me, and getting the timing right for the moving obstacles while also planning for what was ahead of them was brutal. I played until I got to 10 laps, but I might revisit this game later to improve that score.

The only thing I can think of to do differently would be the slowing down and speeding up. Instead of having 3 different speeds to think about, it would be a bit easier to have just a single key to go either faster or slower.

Tremendous game. I've been hooked for quite a while. I like how the graphics have turned out. The music accompanies very well.

Great game!
