But a jump`n`run like hundreds of others
The inertia is perhaps a little bit too strong while jumping with the character.
I was surprised by the key mapping you chose ; usually jumping is on space and attacking on enter. It's not to say that you can't do what you please, obviously, but personally I found it confusing.
Also I found the 'boss' to be easier to beat than the smaller enemies. It is bigger, that is to say easier to hit, and his range is smaller (compared to his size) so easier to dodge.
Overall I still think it's a well-made little game and a good entry for a gamejam, I'm just pointing at what I think could be improved for a future project ^^
Second of all, the music is on point!

I completely sucked at it and it took me a while to discover that I am supposed to jump not with SPACE ;). But - great work!
I think the range on that attack is way too small and it's really hard to get close to those enemies without dying (in just 2 hits). And when you die the starting dialog is playing again and it's frustrating to have to go through it.
Anyway, nice game and thank you for it.

A very nice environment, and some effective parallax. The music was sparse, but I liked it anyway. I agree with another commenter that the mid-air controls are a little strange, but I did enjoy beating up that giant bat. Nice work!
It did look very pretty but there wasn't much to the gameplay like this. I'm sure it wasn't intended, but if it's possible, players are gonna take the path of least resistance. Why would you kill enemies if you can just run past them? I guess it does fit if you want to go with survival like you say in the description, but I wish there was something else to do/manage then

You can speedrun the game this way :slight_smile: (that's actually what we do sometimes)
What would really helped is to have a button to skip all the dialogue, I restarted and had to hold enter until every text was gone.
