Hey I tried out your game, and I will say it's a pretty bold choose to try and do an rpg for a jam! I ran into loading errors in the shop fight and the bat fight, so I was not able to continue past that point. I do like how you can game over when talking to the king tho, that was funny. You made a good attempted keep up the good work.

@creamybacon2 Thanks! This was my first time using that toolset, so it was very much a learning experience for me.

I really cant say much about this because there was a animation error when talking to the baker, but I like how you went for an rpg style even in this short amount of time. Nice calm music and nice art. I didn't like the moving style(moving a certain amount) because it was hard to control where I wanted to go. Anyway, good job!

Hey I got past all the fight scenes and saved the princess!!! though I missed what she said and didn't get any further after that. Probably something to do with the sword grove.

So the issues everyone is having is with missing files. I literally had to go inside your game assets files and create dummy images and sounds. Whenever it asked for a ".png" I just copied one that was there, renamed it, and hit retry! Solved every problem. Bug fixes ARE allowed, so feel free to fix that (with dummy files) and update your zip file.

Also I think I recognize the toolset as some derivative of construct? is that true?

Honestly it was quite frustrating getting to the princess as the engine had a lot of fight scenes to get there. Luckily I brought a potion or I would have died in the boss fight. Once i had a healer princess and reached level 3 from the fight I was invincible!!!! Triple attack is OP, hahaha.

Anyways, as for feedback, it looks like this is your first time with the toolset, so I wont dig you there. If you are really into the RPG genre look into some action RPG engines. there are better ones. Though this wasn't bad honestly!

Mood: High because your music was good, though I doubt you wrote it this weekend?
Innovation: medium. even though you didn't make anything new, you did try a new toolset that ludum dare has not seen yet fom my many years of lurking and playing!
Theme: yep
Fun: Decent? the battle pacing was a bit too often, felt like there were about 30% more fights than I wanted haha.

Polish from the toolset you used was nice though! I liked the sprite characters, did you personally make any> I would like to praise you if you did :)

You sir are crazy for making a RPG for a Ludum Dare game jam. I really like the music and art style of the game. Like everyone else mentioned, the game does get stuck often when talking to NPCs. However, I really liked how fluid the controls felt, especially the movement. I'd like to play this game more when you've debugged some of the prominent errors and fleshed out the world you've created. Good job!

Quick reminder to get more players: Use a thumbnail for your game. Otherwise your game is presented with this grey box. Some great Games are not played because of a missing thumbnail ... You can still change it by editing your submission page :)

@exevirus , no, I did not write the music myself. I used sample tracks from the toolset I used. Yes, it was my first time using the toolset.

This is actually the first that I heard about the .png issue.

Thanks everyone for the feedback!

Hi there, unfortunetly I was unbale to get very far in the game as an error kept coming up in the fights I encountered. Not sure how it fit with the theme, but good try anyway!
