Stuck in an inner tube! by UkuleleFury

Oh no! The player is stuck inside a "loop"--that is, their inner tube--from a tragic inner-tubing accident that left them stuck in the bottom of an endless crevasse!
* NOTE: You can use arrows/space to move, even though the game only indicates WASD.*
This is an endless climber (2D platformer) game, with novel wall-bouncing mechanics!
All design, code, images, sound effects, and music were created by Levi. The creation of this game was also livestreamed on Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/ukulelefury/videos.
Theme: "Stuck in a loop"
This game addresses the theme, "stuck in a loop", in two ways: 1. The player is stuck inside a "loop"--that is, their inner tube--from a tragic inner-tubing accident. 2. The vertically-scrolling level has no end, it "loops" through previous platforms if you get far enough.
Controls
The game indicates WASD for controlling the movement/jump, but you can also use the arrow keys and Space to jump.
Software used
- Godot was used to create this game.

However, just some things that I can suggest to improve your game:
-The movement is waaaay fast, consider leving more "organic"
-The bounciness as well
-There's an "V-SYNC" problem when changing patterns, we can see a line between them
Besides, nice work!
BTW, I noticed that you can scroll the mouse wheel in and out to zoom. This helped me look ahead a little bit (until the camera was too far way to actually make out any detail). Not sure if this was intentional or not, but it was cool. Great game
Don't think the theme fits that well, but good game anyways :)
It is definitely hard. To a certain degree, I was going for that. But about halfway through the jam, I thought it would be better to tone down the speed of things again and make it a little more floaty. But then I figured if I changed the movement, I'd probably need to redo all the levels that I'd already carefully balanced... I think I'll probably turn this into a slightly more polished mobile game, and I'll do something to fix the difficulty then. ...Hmm, actually, maybe basically just slowing the frame rate is what it needs. Then I wouldn't actually have to change any movement reach or tweak any levels. And difficulty could be dynamically configured then!
And I loved Icy Tower! I actually wasn't thinking about Icy Tower at all when I came up with this, but in retrospect, the similarity is pretty obvious! I'm pretty happy with that comparison. :)
Edit: This totally feels like something I'd load up on a RetroPie and have a blast with. Love that.
My left hand fingers hurt.
The innertube was a nice touch. The music was also great.
But damn! It was hard.
Great job!
I think the movement could use a *little* more polish, especially since the movement is the core of the game. I only spent a short time with the game, but I felt like acceleration was a bit to high given your top speed, and deceleration was even sharper.
I'm not sure if the "endless climber" type gameplay is the best fit for this mechanic. It's a pretty chaotic mechanic, it's fun to experiment with, and it's a tad unpredictable - as a result, I often ambitiously tried a fancy maneuver only to pathetically plummet to my death and get set back a fair deal. More of a sandbox-type world where you're free to explore and practice your bouncing abilities might have been more fun in my opinion - or even just removing the rising death floor and punishing you with having to climb back up instead of dying. Just my two cents.
At any rate, fun game with a cool mechanic. Good work.
