I'm a sucker for anything pirate related, so this was right up my alley. The game also looks great. The simple art style works very well. Good use of loop.\nAs pointed out in the instructions, the game crashes when you run out of food. You don't start with very much food and there's lots of enemies through which you can lose it, too. Perhaps less of an issue for better gamers than me, but it meant that my playthroughs were always very short and ended in crashes.
