DITAZURE by BJakubowski

[raw]
made by BJakubowski for Ludum Dare 46 (COMPO)

DITAZURE is an arcade game;

You wake up in deep darkness, kinda nowhere, surrounded by the voices;

Your only hope is power core which is slowly discharging;

You need to power it up, but how?;

Wait...., I think I see someone....

Oh sh*t;

Try to survive as long as you can and share your score;

I've made this game for Compo, fortunately made it on time (like in half time);

Technical info: -Made with Unity Engine -Sprites and Animations were done in Aseprite -Music and SFX were made in FL Studio 20 -Coding made in Visual Studio (hate this tho)

All things weer made by myself during this Ludum Dare; Even this voices and distorted background music, I've recorded it by myself, yesterday (19.04) at 7 am;

Change log: 1:41 (UTC) 20.04.20 -Fixed score, it was counted from previous if you replayed level from the game Just added "score = 0" to Game class OnStart() method

Nice game idea. The music on the menu is very enjoyable.

Creepy atmosphere! There seem to be some bugs with the high-score persisting after deaths however so I cannot share mine :(.

@ssstormy It's kinda not bug, high-score is the highest score that player made, it's stored in PlayerPrefs so it's like your biggest score ever. Actuall score (and this after death) is always shown in the left upper corner.

Oh yeah, now I see

Quick fixed that just before submission end

I like the atmosphere and having the cursor being a torch is a nice touch !

Got a score of 11490. The SFX were genuinely creepy! Thought it was pretty cool. I feel like the difficulty of the game could increase at a slightly slower pace, however!

Score: 6200. Good work. It's hard. Maybe it could be easier at the beginning.

Terrifying sound! I would make it so that there's a delay when you die, cause I can never see my high score because as I'm shooting I lose and then immediately restart before seeing anything.

PRO: Like the idea with the flashlight.
Nice control guide.

CONS: Sometimes enemies spawn too close to react.

Reached 12k. I liked the concept of the game. Didn't know that shooting made you lose power T_T. I would improve the menu graphics.

This is cool! I think being able to take the flashlight off of yourself, risking safety for additional environment information, is great!

I always appreciate when games have custom cursors. You did great with the wispers sound effect. I wish the monsters spawned a little bit further away from the player than what they end up spawning as it can feel kinda cheap to lose because one spawned to close for comfort.

The player takes damage even when no monsters are near which sucks I can't even get one full light source before dying. Cool concept and good programmer art though!

I made it to 11k And then died because I was dumb and didn't realize how the safety lights worked. My only complaint is that sometimes, I might just be bad, the enemies spawn so close to the core that I can't kill them in time. Otherwise great work, I'm digging the spooky atmosphere!

Oh, I'd be glad to be able to use an ability increasing the flashlight area. = ) I liked the gameplay! It's challenging!

'4600. I'm bad^^"

Funny concept, it took me some runs to understand how I could recharge power.
I like that you made some efforts for sound design (the whispers)! So good job there!

Simple but nice concept. Very fitting for the theme. And the sound effects set the mood nicely.

Cool entry, pretty good gameplay, maybe you could add death animation and it would be great

I enjoyed the game, though I don't really understand what's going on? You have a guide button, but it seems like it just lists controls, which isn't particularly helpful. Other than that, though, it was pretty fun and definitely spooky with that audio! Nice job, and keep it up!
