Tepkluth and the scared one by Achiliuus

[raw]
made by Achiliuus for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

In Tepkluth and the Scared one, you are a spirit trying to help a little girl gather the three missing fragments of a talisman to vanquish EVIL! Use your powers to protect the girl from monsters. Once enough energy has been gathered, destroy an EEEEvil bird and take his shard back!

This is a 2D game where you incarnate the spirit of the mystical forest. It asks a child as a guardian to help it to collect all the shards stolen. You will have to trigger the traps to prevent enemies to catch the guardian. When you fully get the energy, you have to beat the bird which stole the shard. You have to collect 3 shards before finishing the game.

Controls

Mouse click : To trigger traps and energy balls.

Two traps : - Slow trap : Slow down enemies. Trigger it when they are on the top of it. - Fall trap : Drop enemies in the void. Trigger it before the guardian reaches them.

Boss's fight Strategy : - Trap enemies - Click on balls to trigger an energy ball and damage the bird.

Hello, your game would be perfect on mobile ^^. Loved the art and music, the gameplay is simple but efficient. I got hooked, and was a bit nervous at the last boss fight.

But i got some issue when i tried to click on traps and energy ball (i'm playing with a trackpad so maybe that's why), and the itch io web player was too large for my monitor. Last remarks, during the bossfight there is no hit feedback on the boss, at first I was worried about not doing things correctly.

Nevertheless, i'm glad i saved the little girl, nice game :)

Beautiful looking game with great sound design. Gameplay was simple but addicting. However I thought the game was a bit too easy, and would have appreciated some changes to spice things up when searching for the 2nd and 3rd shards. Adding new enemy types and traps would be ideal, but that means making even more art and doing more code. A simpler way to increase difficulty might be increasing the enemy speed in later levels?

The music and graphics kept me playing until the end (where you treat the player to a nice piece of end-game art). Nice game!

Great art and music, had a bit of trouble getting clicks to register on the traps, but very solid either way. Good job!

Very nice atmosphere and the story is completely in the theme. And you have made different levels, that's nice for a Jam. I find not clear where to click at the beginning. It would be nice to have more feedback. But good job, you two. There's a good design on this game.

Really interesting. The mood is kinda magical and eerie and the background music is absolutely awesome. I loved the transition between the two levels as well. It felt like it was cut perfectly to the music (maybe that was just by chance, but I'd still appreciate it nonetheless) The game looked very nice as well, especially the entity in the second phase, the one above the main character. The other enemies and the main char were animated nicely and the running an jumping looked very natural. Good job on that! The controls were kinda strange in the beginning, but then I saw the energy bar n the top left. It explained why sometimes, the traps weren't triggered.

The game play itself was a little slow and not that involving. Would've been awesome, if the game play mechanics were as awesome as the atmosphere, music and art. Though, I still enjoyed the first play through. It seemed to loop back to the start of the game. Dunno if this is in purpose or not. Since it looked and played identically, I stopped after reaching the second phase again.

A job well done :) Could use some more punch in regards of actual game play but the rest is already pretty awesome. Keep it up!

Cool game! Art and music is wonderful.

One issue I had was that often when I clicked on traps, nothing would happen. I tried spamming mouse on the trap, but still sometimes I couldn't manage to trigger the trap. Because of that I wasn't able to defeat the boss.

Other than that, very solid entry. Idea is definitely unique.

Cheers!

Great game, the music for me is spot on! The graphics too are quite lovely. I also had issues with some of the clicking for the traps and the bubbles. Also it may have been my device, but the aspect ratio was very long, and the text for how to play was so small I couldn’t read it easily.

I couldn't quite figure out how to play this. But it was very beautiful and I liked the music, too!
