The core mechanic (looping clones of oneself) is interesting and well fitting with the theme. It is also impressively well implemented and polished, it's really a cut above the average jam.
However, I cant help feeling that this mechanic could be better used with more interesting puzzle design. There is so much possibility with this mechanic that isn't tapped into. I feel like the the bulk of development time went into the visual presentation rather than the level design. This is something I can empathize with completely as I have an unhealthy tendency to compulsively polish. ;)
overall, this was a very impressive Jam, good job
I would have love a bit more variation in the puzzles, but... it's a jam game so you can't ask for too much!
Just FYI, though, I think there's a bug where the door opening sound is multiplied by the number of ghosts/iterations in the room, maybe.
Overall, fantastic work! Love it!
Ill just leave a **FYI** here, there is a Mac and Linux version on the Itch page, i dont know if im allowed to edit the game page :)
I also agree with Julius's comment above, this mechanic deserves more exploration! I'm certain there are more ways to interact with the level besides standing on buttons, and I'd love to see what you guys come up with if you continue development. Great job overall.
The graphisms were really aweosme ! and the glitchy aniamtion if the game and the credits were really nicely done !
The puzzles were starting to get a bit tedious and repetitve at the end, but it still does a really nice job at the "stuck in a loop" mood !
Congrats !
I have updated the game page to reflect that we also have a OSX and Linux version.
The game in itself is amazing looking, the mood is incredible, there's a big Tron vibe. The effects are nice looking and the sound fits perfectly the mood. The gameplay is nothing new but it fits well the theme and the general vibe of the game. Overall, great job!
Here's my playthrough of it: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/766604558
What did you think of the game ?
just one thing - you should (in my opinion) fix the rotation of the player when hes on idle(he always rotates towards the camera )which looks kinda strange sometimes
There is a very good reason for this, he is a 2d Sprite and we only made one idle animation which is him facing front :)
So there is nothing in the code that forces him to face towards the camera its simply the sprite animation.
You even took time to implement credits in a very cool way;
I juts wished a level design a bit harder. but i know, this is ludum rules, only 72 hours :)
Very nice entry !!
