Great game! I like the story, it would be nice if things just moved quicker though! I want to play quickly but all the animations are really slow! Great submission though :)

Absolute madmen actually made a VA-11 HALL-A fangame. Legendary.

Finally a game that appreciates the art, the artisanship behind cleaning glasses.

But yeah, the story was good. I liked the dynamic between Gil and Jill as well as Scarlet and Gil. The glass cleaning mechanic was well-chosen, it keeps the player busy without distracting too much from the story. The music choices were great too, they and the color palette really helped to create that perfect bar mood. Great job!

The average working day is a loop way too many of us are stuck in. Very chill game with excellent music.

Really unique concept, trying to turn a mundane activity interesting. The narrative, while simple, is a really nice touch that makes it more bearable repeating the same tasks over and over. I kind of expected the difficulty to increase at some point, but I guess being "stuck in a loop" it's fair to never go anywhere with it. :stuck_out_tongue:

I love it. Such a well written game. The Evangelion references are great and made me laugh. I like how the core mechanic is literally just "somthing to do" while you enjoy the story.

It's just a straight up good game (the original tune by Denki is a great jam, too!). Well done!

Great stuff here. The narrative elements were great, I really enjoyed the relationships that unfolded in the story. The mechanic of washing the glasses didn't ever feel like it got in the way of ready the dialogue.

@human-writes-code thanks a lot!! what do you mean by the... Evangelion references though?

@730 Ignore me. I meant N1RV Ann-A. My brain just malfunctioned and I typed Evangelion because I was thinking about the similarity between N1RV and NERV.

I was so invested with cleaning the glasses that I missed part of the story... but I did see the *Neo New York* bit, which had me laughing. Great work on the art, I really enjoyed the setting and the character art for Scarlett. Great job all all around!

Cool dialogues writing! They are qualitative enough to never break the immersion that I experienced with a hint of humor and even some fourth wall destruction but in a nice dosage.

Nice entry ! Very well written and polished. Would have liked a bit more of gameplay or challenge, or anything binding the narrative to the gameplay. Although I never played VA-11 HALL-A so i probably missed a lot of the point.

All those glasses washed and no counter? How can I flaunt my expert washing skills?

@fireslash Because we live in a society with no counters.

Nah, we actually considered it, but didn't want to clutter up the screen with superfluous shit. Might add a counter later, maybe make it epically diegetic and stuff.

A quick score at the credits would be fine. I agree cluttering up the main screen with a "score" would be net negative to the mood; though you could possibly express it as a dollar value and have Jill make some quip about how little you earn per glass.

A good parody of VA11 HALL-A -- someone has to clean those glasses. Great mood, nice writing, and a close integration of narrative theme and gameplay. 3 sigmas of extra soul compared to the average entry.

Nice job! Would've been nice to have some consequence to the glass washing, as it seemed a bit disconnected from the story. Although, to be fair, that's also mostly true in VA-11 HALL-A anyway. Nice mood piece, and a good homage to the original.

That was nice, I don't know if there was any consequence to performance since I was so perfect, but maybe some some fail state/consequence would have been nice.
It was an interesting experience, the gameplay was... basic and yet I stayed, just reading the intriguing talk while continuing to wash the glasses. In a way missing some talk was the consequence.

Music was great, super chill vibe. thank you "some Japanese people" (& denki)
Since I was able to pay attention, why was scarlet something in Glitch city, when all cities are neo something?!

Kidding aside this was surprisingly chill, not sure if it'll be further explored since its a fan game, but It was great.

that was really nice!! at first I wanted the cleaning mechanics to be faster but then I didn't care anymore and just went with the story. I guess that's the point of the "loop". Great job!
