Really cool idea but the ambient music is really giving me the creeps!

Like the music and the idea, wish there was more content to explore. The collision was a bit finnicky, but overall i liked the feel of the game!

I like the vibe, I think some extra variety would have helped justify the length. I was playing for about 5 minutes and still had plenty of wood in my immediate area. Some world-level mechanic like day/night or weather can help up the steaks when venturing for more wood. That said, I liked the art and sound, it had a good vibe.

@pumpkikin Thanks for the feedback! We had so many ideas for more content, but not enough time. Glad you enjoyed it!

We've all been there. But you completed a neat little game. The art style is great!

I love this game. Took me 3 dies but I finally found the back pack! The art is really lovely, when I first loaded in seeing the fox character with the backpack just made me want to be it and is why I kept playing to find that cool backpack.
I think the music may be a bit too spacey for your cute graphics. I love the load in animation of the fox, the color change when freezing, did I mention the beautiful artwork...
To note: The 'you need a back pack to cut down more trees' kept coming up even when I had a backpack which made me think there could be another backpack... now I just want more of it to play e.g. a shovel to clear those pesky logs and stones in my way. I want to build a little house by my fire.
It's our first game jam too. Well done!

I love the art in this game, it really creates a fantastic retro mood. One minor area for improvement in this department would be a larger contrast between the character and the background, but I guess you could argue this is an arctic fox ;-)

I really liked the graphics as well as the concept! Maybe having some form of enemy would be good too, but then again its a jam and time runs out quickly lol! Overall, I had a fun time playing this game!

I didn't know there was a backpack until I just read some of these other comments - the text flashes on the screen quickly so I thought it said "You can only fit two logs in your backpack" . . . or maybe it didn't flash quickly, but the first time I died just exploring the mechanics and such.

I left some notes on itch about the collision boxes. Also, I'm not sure it is a good idea for first time players of a game to have to input a speed without knowing what the scale is out of.

Fun game and I like the mood. I'll echo the comments about some tuning to the collisions to improve the movement, but overall nice work!
