Waste of Space by souperstrawer

Keep your friendly AI alive on her quest to cruise through space at high velocities.
Unfortunately, there seems to be an increasingly dense asteroid field coming up ahead.
Fortunately, there also seem to be an awful lot of space station modules lying around with lasers, energy shields, and engines!
Use these modules to build defenses to brave the incoming asteroid field. See how far you can get before being overwhelmed.

Alternatively, take it easy in Free Build Mode and build the station of your dreams with nary an asteroid in sight.

Controls:

That was neat ! It was one of the most fun games i've seen this far ! The only thing that bugged me was the shields, i did not quite understood what they cover, maybe adding some kind of tell, like for the lasers would help that . Great game overall :D

Wow ! This game is really impressive.
I really enjoyed making my spaceship, until I got stuck because of my bad management haha
It is an astonishing game for the game jam, good job !

Great game, maybe the penalty for not using a segment should be a bit higher than a couple of seconds lost, otherwise you can too easily cycle through options. Otherwise it's really fun and it looks absolutely great.

Very good game, Nice graphics and audio. Very fun. I only wish a few more seconds of calm before the asteroids start hitting me jeje

Great game I loved everything about it, but I only wish the frame rate was better.

This is so far the most fun entry I've played. I wish there was better indication of the health of each piece before it randomly falls off but other than that it's very polished and very fun to play. This has a lot of potential for a commercial release. I haven't experienced any issues with framerate (I played the WebGL version). Oh, and one last thing - please reduce the opacity of the grid to about ~10-15%. It gets in the way of the asteroids and breaks immersion. Other than that, it's a lot of fun.

Edit: Also, you absolutely have to add the ability to screenshot and share ship configuration captures.[This was my best one](https://i.imgur.com/5s66MjQ.png).

Great game ! It feels a bit like playing a tower defense game but with slightly different rules. The graphics are clean and it has potential to grow into a full game in my opinion ! Congrats

I don't know if was the social aspect(talking to a friend while playing), but when I played this project seeing my ship get blown away was pretty fun. The amount of times that I blocked myself from building more stuff was pretty stellar, and weirdly I liked every one of them. Great entry!

Coming back to it every changing settings and fixing the framerate (don't think it was anything on your end) Making a building game for this Ludum Dare was incredibly unique and the game is really well done. I think if i had one criticism it would be that i wish i had more autonomy over the pieces that spawn.

One of the best games I played so far, good job. I liked the graphics and the gameplay. It might be interesting to allow the player to select between 2-3 modules instead of giving one module each time.

This was awesome!
I liked how clean the UI was and the nice isometric viewpoint.

Assembling the station was a blast.

A really interesting idea! It's kinda like a combination of a strategy, puzzle and action games all in one package. The gameplay loop is very engaging, making you want to play more. The audiovisual side is good. My only problem with the game, which probably stems from not fully understanding the mechanics yet, is that sometimes it's difficult to know what your shields or lasers will protect. Sometimes I felt like despite having multiple lasers in the area a lot of rocks still got through. Oh, and I also think it would be a good idea to add some sort of damage indicator to the sections - right now it's impossible to know which sections need to be protected first before your base breaks apart. Overall, it's a great jam entry, I enjoyed playing it. ;)
