:turtle: Save the Sea Turtles! :turtle:

Escort the turtles from their eggs to the shoreline.

Only you can protect them. Scare away seagulls and pick up garbage.

You can pick up Crabs and place them strategically to feed the hungry seagulls. 0001.gif

At least one turtle must make it to the ocean to win. 0002.gif

Fun idea, nice simple animations, the criss-cross legs are a fun animation style. I feel bad for the turtles but you did the theme justice IMO!

This was propably the most stressful game yet I've played! But in a good way. Good job all around. What did you use to make this game?

Ha this is a great unique game, very innovative and original and most importantly stressful! I feel like I have almost no chance protecting more than 1! Sometimes it feels as though you can't scare the birds, I also feel that maybe they come in a little tooo quickly. Never the less I had some real fun playing this. Well done!

I love the theme here. Trying to help turtles to the sea is quite amusing. Controls feel a little stiff, but I was able to close to the sea (almost! Within 3 meters!). Sound would have been a nice feature to help with the anticipation of incoming seagulls and crabs, but the shadows and animations were more than enough here. The art was appealing to look at as well. The sprite look well crafted. Overall I had fun playing this and found it entertaining. Good job, keep up the good work! :v:

Good implementation of the theme. Some warning for the gulls and crabs would be nice. Gulls in particular are very fast and... well lets just say many turtles were lost in the playing of this game.

I love the idea and the simplistic artstyle. Im a sucker for pixel art! Im not sure if the scare mechanic worked (i played the HTML version) some more visual feedback on that would be nice. Anyway, this was a real good entry, good job!

Ha fun little game! A lot of poor little turtles have been lost due to me not being faster than the guls though! I'm not sure if that's just me being slow or maybe the enemies could be introduced more gradually one by one, so you can get used to them first.

I have a real hatred for seagulls now. Took me a couple tries but I finally managed to keep at least one alive. Sound and some more visual hints would be nice but I really enjoyed playing this

The turtles were my babies and I failed them, I feel so sad  cool game! Love that you have to run around for the scare mechanic to kick in, really gives it a chaotic feeling  would have liked some music though.

I was looking all [turtle game](https://tsjo.st/r/ld46/) (to know if other people have this idea) than I found your game.

I can save only one turtle :sob: All other are dead on the beginning

That was really enjoyable, and honestly made me pretty anxious! It was hectic (in a good way) how you have to micromanage moving trash and crabs while also scaring away the seagulls. And I thought it was a great take on the theme!

Fun game! Loved the art. Had no problem with the controls. It would be cool if you could name the turtles (to grow some sore of additional attachment to them). Then when a turtle gets taken away, you really feel the loss.

Your game idea is both really cute and really dark at the same time. The art is lighthearted, and nice to look at. Meanwhile, the poor, sweet little turtles are being swept up by birds, killed by trash, etc. I like the narrative you're telling with this. As a game, it's a cool and unique concept.

If you were to continue with this in the future, I think that the game simply needs more. This is a good level for a game, but I'd love to see the mechanics expanded upon. You have a good basis mechanic for the game that's in a state where you could take it in many different directions. I'd be interesting to see how you'd expand it if you did.

Anyway though, cute game. Good job :)

Such an eco-friendly game! Looks nice, but makes me sad when I'm loosing another little turtle to seagulls :slight_frown:

This is a nice game! I loved the art and the polish is awesome as well! for example, I love that the pickable objects are highlighted so you can know what items you should move! another thing I love is that you can sacrifice the crabs to the seagulls, it's a nice detail!
Although I think some things can be improved upon:

1. I think that the game is a bit too long, if you die near the end [Like I did multiple times] you have to start all over again. I think what you could have done to fix this a bit would be to make it so that it's only like 10 meters, however, the closer you get to the end, the harder it gets, with more seagulls spawning & more crabs spawning as well.

2. There wasn't an initiative to try to save all the turtles, so after trying a few times I found it was best to eliminate all the turtles and keep only one :p, since then it was easier to just save one turtle, and there weren't any setbacks to doing this.
A suggestion would be that you could make it so that the fewer turtles you have the harder it was, more seagulls and crabs would spawn, there would be more trash or something like that.

3. I think this is more of a technical bug but on two occasions I had only one turtle and a crab spawned right under it and the turtle died. A suggestion would be to make it that crabs can't spawn near turtles or that you can scare crabs before they can spawn.

Overall it was a nice experience, it was a bit long, but I think it fit the theme perfectly, and I managed to get to the end, and I had a fun time while doing so!

@sinci1 thanks for the input! I agree with a lot of what you are saying. Audio, Ideal Game Length and Difficulty were three things I just didn't have time to implement fully but if I expand upon this game then I will most certainly take this feedback into consideration.

I really like the scare-the-crabs-before-they-spawn idea -- hadn't thought of that one.

I liked this game. As noted previously, it's a little bit difficult, but other than that it's a really good entry. I love the art style and it could be a very interesting game with continued work.

Interesting interpretation of the theme, very nice art, a shame about the lack of music. The game can be quite hectic at the beginning when there are a lot of turtles and the crabs sometimes spawn so close to them you cannot save them, but otherwise very solid game!

Great job with the game and nailing theme. Who doesn't want to save turtles?!?! Agree with some others that sound effects would have been nice, but that's how these game jams go. I thought the controls worked really well with the keyboard.
