Stuck on Mars by Emkani

[raw]
made by Emkani for Ludum Dare 47 (JAM)

Play as the stranded prototype mars rover from the 80s.

Explore Mars and map it, uncover the research spots.

Had a lot of ideas for this one, sadly didn't realize all of them.

POST submission fixes: - fixed "lines" not being painted correctly (mesh not marked as read/write) - fixed missing % discovered - fixed broken light probe - fixed radar dish not turning

The concept of colouring the planet is a bit addictive. Good entry! Obviously I would have liked to see the car turning and moving, but beyond that it was a well rounded experience.

Hi! You should remove the "index.html" from the webgl link. Right now it is unclickable. I liked the mood of the game but having to break to wait for the sun is a bit against what I think a car game should be about : going fast. Other than that, good work!

Nice aesthetic! Bold to go full 3D for Ludum Dare. As mentioned before, it would be nice if the car turned.

On my first run, I was trying to go as fast as possible and outran the sun, then I realized it was much more casual and there was plenty of time to explore and had no problem completing it.

I don't know how but it reminds me a planet scanning from Mass Effect which I am in love with :) Exploration in this retro visual style is something that feels really good :) Best of luck!

This is such a cool game! More people need to test this game out. I love the graphics and the music. I was able to beat the game and it was so fun to do it.

This was really addictive stemming from the lack of a pause button, I couldn't step away for like a half hour because I didn't want to lose all o fmy progress! The game itself is well polished, the visuals are good and the music even better, I would have liked some other sort of marker for the sun, but other than that great job, I really felt like I was exploring a planet! I discovered 50% of it before I got all the research points! Great job!
