Delivery Space Attack by ck656

[raw]
made by ck656 for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

It's a very simple game! You got to protect the cargo you're taking at all cost! You got a life bar and the cargo has a percentage based resistance. Do not let it be destroyed!

There is a bar on the top of the screen for you to see how long it takes to get to the end.

W A S D or Arrows -> Move the space ship.

SPACE or Z -> Shoot. Captura de tela de 2020-04-19 19-24-15.png

Love the style of your game! The idea is simple and fits the theme. I only wished the ships had no inertia, which would probably help maneuvering the cargo a lot! I like that there is music and the pixel art is actually detailed. Nice job!

I liked the audio and visuals. Simple but cohesive. The player was a bit hard to control, and I found the vertical wrapping a bit confusing. Gameplay was simple but enjoyable :)

Nice little game. Music is cool. Sad I can't rate it. Is it an external asset?

Inertia is rally making stuff complicated, but it's only better. Liked the wrapping and that you can shoot the cargo.

I really liked the art and idea. It is comperhensive and clear. The gameplay is fun. But the ship is a little hard to control due to momentum. But overall well done!

I like the look and sound of this game, especially the particles and the screen shake, but not really a fan of the slippery controls paired with the vertical screen wrapping.

Very fun game! =)
I think I found a great strategy to beat the game. Get the cargo on the ground (like no vertical movement) and just move your spaceship vertical spamming spacebar. (https://imgur.com/a/CXt89oG)

really appreciate the comments!

@blint6 @seagull @cros107 @skelleroznik I've tried with and without the inertia stuff, at first I thought it was really hard to control but as soon I got used to I thought it was better and fun like that and just kept that way. It adds a layer of challenge.

The vertical wrapping is confuse indeed, maybe I'll remove that later and make it available only horizontal.

@plopmenz I beat the game twice and that was exactly my strategy! hehe

Thanks for the comments!

clever concept and fun game, well executed. the screen wrapping makes it a little confusing especially coming from the top if you go out the bottom. but the introduction of the cargo and the physics of it feel really good and fun.

Fun concept, but like everyone above, the screen wrapping was a bit confusing, interested to see what you do with it

A simple but fun game! Maybe adding a little more linear drag/friction to the player would make the controls feel more responsive. Overall still a great job!

I was able to beat it! The controls were really hard because there was no drag. I ended up pushing the box to the bottom, and just strafing back and forth and pushing the box side to side using the screen wrap. I don't think it'll be possible otherwise with the movement. It was nice that the box could destroy enemies though that usually meant it would also break soon. Anyway, keep up the good work!

Hi, i guess having the ship controlled would be to easy? Besides controls I think the game is a great submission for the jam! Love the pixart and music! I felt a bit like playing one of Pegasus games:)
