A final word
Thank you for playing this 'game'. I really appreciate it and i am super proud of what i've achieved here regardless of where i place.
This was my first ever submission to the Ludum Dare 46 Compo! I previously submitted a game to the Jam in LD42 as part of a team; but this was the first time going solo! As per the Compo rule all assets were made by myself using the following tools:
- Unity for the engine
- Aseprite to create the pixel 'art'
- Bosca Ceoil to create the music
- Audacity (and my microphone)to create the sound effects.
- YouTube/Stack Overflow/Google for answers to my gamedev problems.
Finally i tracked what i spent time on. Here's a quick breakdown: Sleeping/Breaks (19hrs), Dev (9hrs), Graphics (7.5hrs), Sound (4hrs), Polishing (6hrs). Total (26.5hrs working).

Seems to be a problem where after you clear the game, you just die instantly after starting a new one.
The game had some nice visuals and the fire sounded nice and cosy. It's funny how I first tried to throw the people into the fire, saddened about the inability of said action just to be greated with such a nice ending
It could have used a little arrow to point you to the nearest piece of fuel, but I am not 100% sure if it really fits the game xD
:star:
I also tried to pick up people, did not work. 😅
As for feedback, maybe you could give some more time and the fire. I also found that not being able to feed the kiln from above to be a bit frustrating.
Should probably get some sleep.
Nice idea. Controls could be more smooth. Picking up objects easier, without having to face them exactly right, would be nice. Still, in line with the theme, and a nice little game.
- I tried to pick up someone but didn't work, so no pay for my "evilness".
- Material do not spawn often.
- End game is not clear, so I assume is a never ending game.
The idea is simple, but proven effective. Here's my two cents:
* The game is properly doable on easy, but not so much in normal and hard... (but omg a drop-down!!! that's unexpected!!)
* You may want to give a temporary sprint button.
* Alternatively, something pointing to the nearest resource would help, but definitely not in this context. It'll feel cheap if you add that.
* At first I was trying to talk to the NPCs. :b
* I was expecting to throw into the fire in 360 degrees, but makes sense now why it's only in the front. But with such limited resources, the time to go around is usually not worth it.
* It's pretty clear materials do not spawn. I was expecting to but, how the dialog was going I definitely know what to do next. I love that.
* On the side, you could have gone even more crazy where the rocks are actually coal and even throw that statue into the fire.
* That's all, actually. Usually I would suggest more.
This is very good as a first compo entry! Great work~
Good job!
Well done!
