Portaloop by Allas

You play a snake-like creature protecting ever-appearing portals from your enemies (don't let their appearance fool you!) by looping your tail around them and getting them stuck - fortunately, confined spaces stress them so much they explode. - The portals close when an enemy manages to enter them, or naturally after some time. - When a portal closes, the enemies heading for it become angry and choose to pursue you instead. - You get score for forcing non-angry enemies to explode. - The game ends when your head either hits an enemy or a wall.
Controls: Left/Right/W/S
Tools used: - Unity - Gimp - Bosca Ceoil - Bfxr

Was way more challenging than I thought and it really got me engaged.
They sometimes went mad without reason I think so that might be a bug?
Thank you for the game
If I had one "true" complaint, it's how your own tail didn't kill you, despite what I think because of game like snake (while the wall kill)
✔️The game is intuitive and simple to understand letting me start to play straight away.
✔️Art style is simple and effective.
➖The controls feel a bit slippery.
The controls felt a bit unresponsive though.
But touch controls, at least on my phone, don't work well at all. Sometimes the snake responds as you would exoect but most of the time it seems to just move as it wants to, in some random.ways instead of the ways you ordered it to move. That makes at least the Android version of the game sadly unplayable
@fabula-rasa the android controls work the way that the right half of the screen serves as the right button and the left side is the left button, didn't they work like that for you?
I just now tried the game again and the controls work exactly as you said. No trouble at all!
You seem to already be aware of the sluggish controls, but aside from that, I think the challenge drops-off quite quickly when you get the hang of it, and either ramping-up the difficulty curve or giving the player an incentive to take risks (e.g. a bonus for trapping multiple enemies at once) might help keep the game entertaining for longer.
I like that the snake moves quite fast, but the slight delay on rotation makes it a little frustrating to control at times. I don't think I ever died to an enemy because I always ran into a wall. I also think that letting an enemy enter a portal isn't punished enough. Apart from that, great entry!
