@cryptomnesic I was worried about that, did you get pinned between a platform and the ceiling? I included the energy wave as a panic button but I’m not sure how else to get around that problem. If this is a common thing I’m open to suggestions on how to change it from anyone

Nice job! Your game was fun to play and I understood very quickly how to play it. I got to 1305. The audio was all right (some more sounds would have been nice) and the graphics worked, but the gameplay overall was the best part. I liked the strategy involved in rolling the ball and how the special abilities worked, it was a really good idea! The highscore table was a good addition, but most importantly, you did a great job of the core game loop as it worked really well and felt polished! You could polish the menu's presentation a little more, but I see this is a compo game so you would have been pressed for time (well done by the way, this is an amazing effort for a compo entry). I see two other people said they got trapped, but luckily that didn't happen to me. Well done overall!

Ooh, nice idea! It's pretty fun flying around trying to break the right blocks to survive. I had some close calls too. My only suggestion would be to possibly shorten the timer on the levels - it felt just a bit too long in my opinion. Awesome job!

Nice game. Fun, funny and complete. UI can be polished but it's good for compo. I'm such a noob I wish the ball was smaller. Congrats!

Well done! this game was simple but fun! I felt like I was playing a level from megaman or something. Great work

Cool game! I didn't get trapped like the others, but it did happen to me multiple times that I clicked outside of the game's screen by accident, which put another window in front of the game and almost made me lose. Another small gripe I had was that when the level ended the game just seemed to reset the counter and continue... I would have liked to see some feedback for completing the level.

But considering this was made for the compo, I believe it was very well done and it is amazing you got so much out in time! Congratulations!!!

Not a bad game!

I found it a little difficult to move the sword at like the sword was a little awkward to use at the same time as moving around. I played a few times but could only just get up to level 2!

Ok, scratch that, I made it to level 3!

This is an interesting idea although it feels pretty tricky. Maybe if it was easier I'd find it more satisfying haha :P

I found this game much too difficult. It seemed like I really just had to rely on luck. For example, the farthest I got was about 70 seconds into level 2, and I lost my second life when the crystalline loop got trapped inside a set of metal blocks. I couldn't push it out, and I was out of bombs, so I just lost.

I also lost a lot of lives to the loop re-spawning nowhere near a platform, and directly above the spikes.

I think the levels really need to be more specifically designed, or have an RNG system that specifically makes sure they are always feasibly winnable. I also think the levels should be much shorter. I played this game around 16 times, but only got to level 2 around 4 times. It simply doesn't seem like it's worth spending a minute and a half just to get another shot at level 2.

OK, here's a weird glitch. The first time I played through this game, no music had started until level 2. I opened it again while writing this review, and lo and behold, there is actually music for level 1! I honestly thought there wasn't any music for level 1, and I had written that that was a strange choice.

I like the player moveset. Being able to fly around freely is an interesting mechanic for a platforming game. I think the bomb is a very nice move to have, and it definitely saved me a couple times on level 1 when I was in tricky spots. (incidentally, one time the bomb didn't destroy a block for some reason?)

I like the idea of an invincible player character managing a destructible resource. I don't think I've played many games like that.

Now that I've seen the music working properly, I also like the evolution of the music and the background graphics through the different levels.

And I do think that it's fun to play through the game, once you sort of figure it out. I went back and played it again for part of this review, and I was enjoying myself quite a bit. However, it's simply not fun to go back all the way through level 1 again after you have just done so a couple times in a row.

So yeah. That's my verdict. Fun once you figure it out, but too difficult for me to see myself completing it.
