sound effects especially for the bad fish are hilarious. it's the first game that made me say "oh no i'm stuck in a loop"

What a strong entry for your first time out, congrats! I had fun checking this out and this is one of the highest ratings I gave for theme use. Great work!

I'm such a noob, survived only 845 points. Nice concept, but I feel like it gets hard very fast, which is probably better for a Ludum Dare game :). A sad reality interpreted in a funny and entertaining game, good job :)

One of the best implementations of the theme I've played. Great gameplay. Great sound effects (I love the this style). All packaged with a social message. Cut up those 6-pack containers!

Hahah, really fun to play. I like how the plastic bands get stuck in the coral, definitely makes the gameplay more challenging.

I really like how the player in incentivized to have a longer chain with the score multiplier. The sound effects are fun, and the artwork is charming. Cool game!

I also liked the longer chain mechanic. The audio was on point haha

This is a rather well rounded game considering the time constraints and the fact that it's your first jam entry! There's a clear mechanic, clear risk/reward system, clear goal, and difficulty ramp. Developer 'mouth sound effects' always make me chuckle, so, in my opinion, you have yourself some pretty good audio as well. Great game!

This was really well done! The competing motivations of "get a long chain to get a higher score multiplier" and "keep your chain short so it doesn't get snagged on coral" was really smart and made the game fun to play. The art and sound are nice and make the whole experience work. Great first entry!

hilarious entry/fun gameplay mechanic but also oddly meaningful? not even sure if this was intended to be some kinda social commentary but it's actually pretty meaningful so kudos on that. good work :D

What a cool use of 2d Physics. I like this game. It's always impressive to see compo games that look like they were finished, rather covered in duct tape and hastily posted at the last minute. I think it's a real skill that you scoped your Compo game correctly and executed the idea well.

Interesting idea, the controls feel smooth and responsive. The gameplay is challenging especially when we take into count the chain combo and how it affects difficulty and rewards (higher risk gives you higher rewards). I like the sprite designs but I would have liked to see a bit more variation with the enemies. The UI is clean, what I think would improve it is if the score text has its own dedicated area that way it's easier to see.

The mechanic, and the idea were really interesting. I like the environmental message. But I wish there was something I could do once I was stuck. I felt really trapped and helpless, especially when I was stuck far from the crabs. Perhaps another mechanic that would allow me to set myself free would have been nice. Even just a timer on being stuck would be better than a forever debuff. But I did really enjoy the concept, thank you for the game!

Sound effects were really on point, especially game over sound makes you wanna lose more! Great concept, and different use of theme. And as @ubershmekel said, I would like to have some other ways to get rid of the corals.

Congratulations to your first Game Jam entry! I liked the graphics and the blue ocean. If you want to polish this game a bit, you could add some nice bubbles animation to your sea life world. Good luck with your next game jams. Stay on the ball and keep up the excellent work.

Excellent! I love the pollution message. And I love the take on the theme, for being stuck in a loop! The gameplay was pretty simple, but very fun and progressed well.
