Nothing but naked by LoneWolfDev

[raw]
made by LoneWolfDev for Ludum Dare 45 (JAM)

Last night you and your friends had the most epic university party in your life… or at least that's what you think, as you don’t remember anything. All of you awake in the university with nothing..., literally, not even with clothes...

Your objective: Find the way out of the university!

Take control of the 3 friends, and use them to help each other to sneak out of their embarassing situation.

But watch out! No one will like to see you naked, and the janitors... not even with clothes, so stay away of them!!!

Really enjoyed the game! Loved the humor! The player feels a bit slow, but for a stealth game I could understand that design decision. Definitly well-done and polished!

Ha! What a nice use of the theme. Adored those graphics and the scale of the world. I found the game overall to be very hard! Difficulty settings could vastly improve this for me.

I like your take on the theme lol. I think you've made a really great game overall and I really like pixel art style. Great job!

Haha, I like your interpretation of the theme! Nice twist on a stealth game with nice artwork! Sound was good for immersion. I think the hitboxes could do with being made a bit smaller, I kept finding myself getting caught on things

Funny idea! I like your design and it's exciting to hide in the locker.
Sadly I had sometimes problems walking through an opened door :(
Switching between the characters is really cool!

I enjoy the premise of the game, controls, and the graphics a ton - its lovely seeing other pixel art games doing something new. I do wish there was a bit of.. cooldown time on the door opening, speed of detection, and speed of the NPCs generally, because the game at some points felt a little hard to play because of how quickly some characters moved, leaving me nearly no time to escape! I really enjoyed the overall game though, it was a blast and has been one of my favorites!

This Is a great concept and a well polished game!

I found it just challenging enough to keep me playing, while not being to hard.
It was alot of fun and bug free! You should definitely be proud of this!

@lonewolfdev, this is such a well realized submission!
I really enjoyed it from top to bottom.

The tutorial and instructions are absolutely top notch and are so vital to selling this premise.
The detection grace period and functionality was really on point.
Really liked the unique interactions to affect the routines.

The game itself is also quite elaborate and I really like how there is almost like a real schedule and duties to each entity in the facility. 5/5

Wow. This game is so polished and fun. Just hard enough to be a challenge but still keeps you trying over and over. Amazing job!

The best idea of the stealth action game ever, really, I would like to play it in 3D. Also, it's amazing how much things you managed to implement! Well done!

I found the speed a bit frustrating (also would have loved to have the arrows to move) but the use of the colored rays is great!

This game is incredibly difficult, I could even make it to the gym. The concept, sound effects and art were incredibly well done. However, I noticed a glitch where if you walk up to two adjacent lockers and enter them you could be in both of them at the same time. Well done!

Amazing work, music is 10/10. A bit hard, but so much fun. It really can and must be expanded to something bigger!

And yes, now i understand how Naked Snake got his name and stealth skills...

Great game and I like some of the ideas, like distracting npc's or having different npc's (teachers/pupils and janitors/director). But here are some negatives:

I think the vision coins can be quite confusing, as they move to the player, without the npc seeing him (I quess that's because of the conversations mechanic - maybe make this an interactible action, as it should only move, when you interact with the npc).

I got stuck some times at the doors. I guess there's something weird with it.

The npc's move way to fast. As there are so many of them, it's hard to keep track of the right timing to move and as they are moving so fast, there's hardly any chance to react or safe yourself, when you "guessed the timing" wrong.

But still, great game.

Great combination of theme and stealth game.

I did use only hiding in lockers mechanic and don't know if I didn't think of easier way or it's the only way

I had much fun playing this game! Congratulations!

The graphics are amazing, really did a good job on those. I also liked how the university had a bell which students would actually respond to, makes the whole world feel alive and moving while you try to sneak around. Well done, great entry!

Great playing around the theme. Awesome concept. This is very fun to play. But too hard. Spotlights everywhere, but on other side it makes feel that it isn't a horror game, otherwise it's a comedy genre, and audio fills this mood good. Only problem I've noticed is the collisions checking. This is too laggy and character often stucks.
Thanks for your entry!

Looks great and interesting mechanic, but too hard for me :( Timings are too tight and "enemies" are too fast.

Great game! One of my favorites for sure, and fun interpretation of the theme. Very difficult as others have said, but I finally managed to make it through after losing a few times. Discovering the behavior of the different characters was a lot of fun as well as discovering different strategies for not getting seen.

I actually like that the game is hard, I really enjoyed trying to figure out what to do and test different theories. Everything is great with this entry, the art looks great and fits really well together. The idea is unique and works incredibly well with the theme and the sounds and music sound nice!

Well done :v:

I love the graphics and the sfx/music is pretty cool as well.
Managed to get 2 students clothes but after severall tries restarting and redoing everything started to become a problem, and several times I got stuck on doorways.
Maybe a check point every time you get someone's clothes would be nice.
Overall, great entry!

Funniest game i've played this LD so far, the music sounds like the music from SHAFT and somehow that makes it funnier!

I did find it really hard though, one problem i noticed was i kept getting stuck in door ways if i wasn't perfectly in the center, and this made my unmentionables mention-able, so little wider on the doors would be good.
I would also benefit from being able to scour the area with the mouse, just so i know where i am going.

Other than that it seems a pretty well polished game and the artwork is really nice!
If this became a habit with these 3x delinquents (like every weekend for a bet), i could see this spreading into other locations, a mall or a swimming baths maybe. Awesome game! Well done!

really interesting (and a bit weird) idea. the stealth system is a bit too punishing as they just instant lock on the places player would be. a detection system will be great?

@nikolay-zapolnov Wowww no wayy!! Congratulations!!! Actually We didn't know you could exit through the main door hahahahaha (actually you didn't need to, as the janitor had already left) but okay you used it to press the button so completly fair hahahah. So good job man!!! And really thanks for the playthrough, for sure it will be useful for others or in case just want to see how to solve it!

@LoneWolfDef Oh sorry I have found a bug probably :) I noticed later that breaking water fountain in the big hall calls out the janitor, but leave-through-the-door was the first strategy I have discovered (was thinking about the "principal looks over the door" thingie and tried to interact with it and, well, passed through :).

Anyway it was very enjoyable to try to beat it, it took me tens of retries :) Really enjoyed the live world, 100% immersion :)

"I woke up naked at school." That day was crazy!
I never thought it would be so hard to escape naked from school! I haven't got it yet, but I'll keep trying. This is the game I've seen so far that used the theme in such a funny way! Congratulations!

Really loved the game! It had a great atmosphere and clearly there was a lot of thought put into the game and level design. The graphics were also great.
Like other players, I also felt the game was too punishing, and the movement of the "enemies" felt a little chaotic (also they move really fast). Also could use a mini map which would have helped me to better organise my actions.
Great job!

I had some trouble getting into the lockers, and that made me lose the game a couple of times. But a minor bug. Excellent game! Brilliant level design, nice art, bgm and sfx, polished game play. An amazing atmosphere overall. Good job to all of you!

Nicely done! Being able to switch between characters adds another level of puzzle solving. My only comment is that you move pretty slow relative to everyone else, which makes it really hard to avoid someone once they start moving toward you. I really enjoyed this one though, great job!

A clever idea. The NPC sight cones felt like a bit of a lie; their shape implies that the NPCs can only see in a code in front of them, but since they instantly turn to face you if you walk behind them they effectively have 360 degree vision. Also, it feels like the NPCs who 'catch' you even when you're clothes should have some compensating flaw, like a longer detection period, or a shorter range of vision.

Really, really cool entry, a nice mix between MGS and Hotline Miami, the graphics and musics are really good, the gameplay is well polished and all. But man the game is hard af ahah! Couldn't finish it because of a ragequit, I think the player is way too slow compared to the ennemies so that was a bit frustrating. But anyway I understand the game is meant to be hard. Overall that's one of the best entries I have met so far so congratulations to you guys :)

Haha this game is really great! I really liked the stealth gameplay and the puzzle mechanics. I will say that the character movement speed felt really slow, maybe after you get your clothes you should get a speed boost? I did find the game fairly hard and wasn't quite able to finish, and I had some issues with getting stuck on doors, the hitboxes seemed quite unforgiving. Overall a fun game, I really like your style!

Hilarious game idea lol. I was only able to get 2 clothed; never the third by the principal.

@nikolay-zapolnov's video really helped me, I never knew (or thought about) the idea of going quite behind there, lol. Also why these students all faster than us
