Just a heads up I do understand that making a local multiplayer game in the middle of a pandemic was maybe not the best idea but parsec is a great alternative if you want to play with your friends. https://parsecgaming.com/downloads/

A fighting game in which you don't actually do damage to the enemy player! Your goal is to stop the other player from destroying your shrine through rituals. When you pray, you completely immobilize yourself and you have to outsmart the enemy in order to get a fighting chance at keeping your shrine alive.

:exclamation: The bot is only for demonstrative purposes. It is not representative of actual gameplay. :exclamation:

Changelog: Fixed major balance issues making the game actually worth playing.

Loved the art, and music, and the unique take on the theme/fighting games!

Good challenge to make a 2P game, but I'm confined alone... I miss a little bot to completely try the game

Nice music, and neat simple graphics as well as animations
Just by playing alone, I don't really imagine how you can pray without being hit immediately...
I think it's just too simple for a barbarian-like to give a good gameplay.

(Bug ? : praying does not work if you're not oriented to the right)

Cool pixel art and music.
To be honest I did read the description before launching the game and I try to make damage for a while before admitting that I should read the description before playing games :p

I like the idea of making a 2P fighting game for ludum dare. Multiplayer games in general don't get much of a chance here, especially ones that are trying to do something different, which yours is. That said, I struggle a little bit to see the creative decision-making that would make me excited in a fighting game. It seems like a "solved" game in terms of choices (always pray ASAP, then attack if you're losing and hope the other player doesn't pray sooner than you after getting hit). I wonder if there was a ranged attack or an advantage for standing closer to the plant, if that would help create that extra dimension.

Thanks for the game, keep experimenting with ideas like this! I appreciate playing them :)

Nice gameplay! Could not completely get used to the controls/attack timings, though. My hit box just could not reach the opponent when I attacked too early or too late but that made it challenging for me, so I had more fun winning!

Good game. I really like the idea of a 2p fighting game, and the way you incorporated the theme into such a game was really innovative. Really good concept.

Original idea! I like the gameplay, the art and the music create very good mood. Would be great to have more moves to diversify the strategy. Great job!

I enjoyed the game and idea is very nice. Did not liked much of the stalemateness of the game and I think the reach of the sword should have be a bit higher. Great graphics and music.

I like how you took a fighting game, shoved the theme in, and it somehow actually worked.

The game has solid graphics and music making for a good style.
Like others mentioned before it's a bit too easy to get a stalemate, so some additional mechanic to break that up would be cool.

@iak @trigueiro I agree with you on that! I think that a time limit would add some urgency to the game loop for sure. Thanks for the feedback guys!
