Sinner's Hotel by ElllaDee
Michael decided to kill himself. Now he is literally stuck in a loop. And he is in Hell. Do you think this is the end? Huh, this is just the beginning!

Good implementation of the loop theme and a really nice soundtrack
(I had seen the same things 5 times already so tried going left but that whas it.
Great job and fun game! :)
Nice visuals on this one !
Getting the hang of the mechanic takes some patience but is still reasonable, however having to take it from the start at every wrong answer feels a little unfair.
As a player you always choose your answer randomly (since the questions are not based on anything you've seen or heard before), perhaps linking the questions to the environement would have worked better, since in that case if you fail to answer correctly it is clearly your fault for not paying attention to things.
The falling piano is a nice addition since it breaks of the point and click action into something a little more platformy (it is sunddenly important to control your movements), a welcome change of pace !
The humor is here and works well, I would say a few tweaks on the Q&A mechanic and this would be a neat little game !
Keep up the good work !
And feel free to check and give me your opinions on my entry !
Thanks
Damien
I enjoyed it very much.
As much as I hated playing the game I must say that is a very well executed hell experience so ... Bravo !
@gurigraphics thank you!
@mikdionio yeah, the distance is longer than I expected, but we didn't have time to fix it. Thank you!
@monninen thank you!
@teto yeah, those corridors... Anyway, I am really glad that you like it, thanks for such a great feedback!
@oddsocks Thank you :smile:
@guaranteedtrainwreck wow, such a great feedback. Thank you! It was our first LD and next time we will know how to do a better game)
@markus Thanks a lot!
@merrow Thank you <3
@thundersalt Thanks!
@spacecadet Thank you! Well, actually, game is not finished, distance had to be shorter and with content
May be, i misclicked, but all three optiions on 5th guy sent me to start, and on 4th time i passed him with first option i tried.
Also i tried to come back, and i spent a lot of time to come back from 5th guy to just meet a scene border. it was guite dissapointing,
Anyway, good job! simple and catchy, fits in the theme nicely.
Thanks for the game!
Молодцы =)
And why is there a piano?
Small Caveats: The running animation seemed to somewhat lag behind starting to walk, maybe it only changes animation once the current animation cycle is completed? And on a device with a pixel ratio of 2 (4 physical pixels per screen pixel), the font was really small and hard to read.
Nice entry!
The game was a bit too repetitive, especially if you give the wrong answer on the last choice, but the piano and the overall flavor text were well executed ideas!
nice job!
So I guess I really experienced a different game than everybody else :laughing:
Maybe you could introduce something to prevent that from happening - to make sure that the player experiences the loop. Like make one of the "proper" answers only appear as an option to chose from if the player got returned to the beginning at least once.
But still thanks for playing,for feedback and for advice)
Not sure if jumping is needed for anything, but I have noticed a small bug with animations. When jumping, I assume, you go from state Idle->Jump->Walk->Idle. Walk state should not be there, if jumping straight up.
Also, as already mentioned, fast moving pixels make the game a bit unpleasant to look at. You could simply decrease the movement speed and distances between dialogues so that time to reach is the same, but room does not move that fast.
Apart from that very solid first entry. Music and art is great, even if not particularily hellish.
Cheers!
Very funny dialogue, also very emblematic game! Combining this ld's theme with the *Divina Commedia* is an inspiring idea I wish I had! :D
