Shadows of Drakthur by igizzy
Game made for ludum dare 46 using Unity, Affinity Designer, sfxr, and Song Maker.
The theme was to keep it alive, so you are in charge of the defenses of your space station on its way to Eden. Spend your resources wisely to repair and add cannons to the hull of the ship.
This is a very quick piece after taking a few years off of game development. I had a lot of fun with this one for sure. I took inspiration from the first boss in Contra (NES) wondering what it would be like to play the defense wall rather than the players. I had stretch goals of adding more sound effects, multiple turrets, power cores to shield tiles, and a chatty AI that runs the station, but had to scale these items back to make the deadline.
Simply click and build and make your way to the Eden Outpost where you and your crew will be safe!
Thanks for check out my game.

Fun game, nice take on a tower defence type game.
Hint for anyone who hasn't played yet: Don't place your turrets on the outside :)
Only thing I would add besides that is hot keys for placing units. Fun otherwise!
Good job!
There are a few bugs with controls I guess sometimes the tile under the cannon can not be repaired.
After level 14 it became boring as I put all the cannons and was repairing tiles.
Would be great to have some tile adding or upgrading canons. But overall the game is fun and well polished.
Particle effects are also fun.
Second suggestion would be to make the GUI text more readable. I couldn't read how much currency I had most of the time.
Aside from that I really loved this game. It's an interesting concept and gameplay style that's easily approachable.
I did have an issue where the UI in the bottom right obscured part of the play area, so I couldn't always see what side enemies were coming from.
Anyway, this game works pretty well, and is fun enough.
In terms of strategy, there's not much you can do after you cover your whole rock with turrets except repair as quickly as you can. The early game is pretty challenging, but once you get 7-8 turrets on the board, it becomes pretty unloseable.
Still, it's pretty satisfying once your defenses start working well. Nice game
With a bit more polish, variety, and upgrades, maybe some other setups, this could be an interesting tower defense style of game.
