The game is kind of buggy though, after feeding it a few things, it starts taking multiple spacebar presses to grab things, and at some points I put something into the mushroom and it takes several seconds to process that I actually threw something at it.
Also, I think it would be better if you didn't post that second screenshot, in order to give more surprise. The "cute horror game" part is more than enough I believe.
Cute graphics, Animal Crossing Vibes. Good job!
So many nice details to this:
- The day / night cycle. Subtle enough to not notice initially but just right.
- Just as I started questioning my actions, the game rewarded me.
- The dynamic music is super-good.
My only gripes were that it was difficult to aim sometimes... I'd see the Space button UI but pressing it wouldn't do anything. It also gets a bit tedious sometimes feeding the same items to the mushy.
Overall I had a great time with this. Congratulations to the team on getting so much atmosphere into this.
The art and animations are absolutely gorgeous!
But for some reason, the game doesn't really function at all for me. Pressing space to pick up things only works like a tenth of the time. And the mushroom doesn't seem to actually eat anything I gave it. Am I doing something wrong?
As for the spacebar: Are you detecting player input in the FixedUpdate() loop? That might be causing the game to miss inputs inbetween frames.
Be sure that we will let you know when our build will run for everyone ;) !
Really nice atmosphere transition, the cutscene is neat  !
Watched the video after, that's super fun, well done!
Ooh and for next time, you could put some controller button too, it's super simple with unity!
And great interpretation of the theme
Good job!!
