Turn the whole of History into one long dinosaur era!

-> Quick access to the game! <-
Make your dinosaurs survive!
As a guide of dinos, your goal is to ensure the survival of a pack of cute diplodocuses. Guide them with your mouse (left click) for as long as possible ! :clock5: But beware of their energy going down !
Help them avoid natural disasters!
However, be careful, catastrophes will arise and try to wipe your friends out of existence! :volcano: :comet: Use their herd behavior to keep them out of danger.
Make them live throughout History!
If you're skilled enough, your giants won't go extinct and will live on beyond Prehistoric times! Can you bring them to the future? :rocket:

Want more challenge? Try to finish with several dinos! 💪
Small bonus for curious ones: you can interact with the title-screen dinos, no stamina needed! Or just watch them live their life peacefully... 🥰

I love the graphical design, and you executed the concept you had in mind pretty well.
The thing that bugged me though is that I didn't really notice the energy meter that dinos had, and it isn't really mentioned anywhere, so for the first couple of moments I was convinced that something was broken - i was holding LMB and yet the dinos had minds of their own! I ended up figuring it out later though, so it's all good.
My one feedback is it seemed easier the fewer dinos I had. I was happy to let a few die at the start of the game to make it less hectic.
PS: The modern dinosaur(darwindocus) is my best XD
Great work!
P.S.: The cyranodocus is the best <3
Good job on your jam entry anyway :)
The game was fun and I'm glad I managed to save those dinos from hell. The art is great, maybe some background music would be nice but overall I loved it!
Not yet...

A narrativa é simples: sobreviva. Hahahahahah.
1 - Mechanics, Learning and Flow:
Well, you have an energy bar and you can spend it guiding your current set of dinosaurs in the direction you click.
In addition, dinosaurs have a flock behavior with some random movements (as I understand it) and some flock footprint (I don't know if the random is stronger, or if cohesion is stronger in this case).
Learning to play was very simple, because it is a one-button game (for computers it seems to work well at the current speed, at least if the goal is to reach only a small group at the end).
The game has a flow more for anxiety than for boredom (I think that made it more challenging).
I missed some diversity in the threats and the background (but the skins of the dinosaurs were already something interesting and characteristic).
The end didn't have a victory screen (as I understand it), it was all too fast and I clicked wrong and restarted (unfortunately).
2 - Graphics, Audio, Narrative and Polishment:
I really liked the art used (unfortunately I didn't see a diversity of threats between the ages). What gave me the impression that a bunch of intergalactic titans are trying to stop me from winning (hahahahah).
The audio was in charge of the sound effects (a background track based on each period would come as a good thing, but for Ludum Dare's time, I think only one would be nice, maybe with some addition of sound layer or changing the volume) .
The narrative is simple: survive. Hahahahahah. It would be possible to reproduce and have micronarratives between seasons, but it would not be work for game jam time.
3 - Culture:
Involving dinosaurs always brings some people (it is in the interest of many people to know more about such animals). Hahahahah.
If each era had an extinction problem, it could take even more advantage of the cultural focus. :)
4 - Monetization:
Because it is a one-button game, I think it matches to be sold on mobile.
And thank you for your elaborated feedback, we'll study all of that.
Maybe add some music for each episode and a few other kind of obstacles (like a meteor which runs down a line or water rising except at a few hills). But the game is a lot of fun and a great entry. The graphics are gorgeous :).
You nailed it with the art, it's super nice.
Gameplay is simple, but very fun at the same time.
Would love it wasn't up the the luck that much though. For example if meteorites/vulcano spawned on free spaces (not on top of each other/close to each other) or on harder level highter probability that meteorite will try to aim at dinos)
The small dino hats made me smile so much. They were so adorable, and I cared about them from the start.
@jmad @sndr : Glad you liked it
@arzi @ulcius : Thanks for your feedback, it will help us for our future entries!
I miss a few more diversity for the dangers though, maybe tied to the century (you could avoid some Eiffel Towers spawning from the ground during the modern times ~~and some crashing planes~~, for example). A larger ground could be also a nice addition, it's a bit too small right now imo.
But it's still a very good entry for a jam, congratulations!
@azathothep : we planned on adding other disasters, but ran short on time... Didn't think of Eiffel towers spawning out of the ground though, but hilarious idea! :joy:
I didn't notice that you posted them in here, so waiting to see new ones was a good motivation to go forward. Maybe it would be best if you kept them secret on the game page? I don't know. Anyway, very nice and cute game!
Game feels a bit fast, but overall really fun.
Going through time is a really nice idea. We need more hats!
Thanks everyone for your feedback! I'm playing your games too!
Every other aspect of the game is fantastic: lovely artwork, great and diverse music for each age, proper animations... and dinos wearing fancy hats  It's such a great work, congratulations!
It is a very nice and fun concept. I enjoyed playing it and really have nothing to complain about. I didn't encounter any bugs. It's just a well-polished great experience! I managed to save 3 dinos :)

I really liked the gameplay and dinosaurs. I never managed to win. I panic too much when I play and care about dinosaurs)
thank you for your work!
I love the artstyle and the idea you went for, dinos are cute and their personalities in different periods are fantastic :) Also the mechanic that all the area gets more and more cramped and navigation is more and more difficult is pretty well thought out! Graphics of meteorites and volcanos are also great and the impacts and erruptions do feel good!
I would prefer better control over the dinos (maybe more stamina, faster replenishing, faster dinos or something like that) so that there were a bit more interesting situations like hitting volcanos when running from meteorite, which rarely happened to me because I rarely run any greater distance due to low stamina. I found myself in what I thought to be the optimal strategy (even before cornering dinos) when I move the dinos only as little as possible, which meant not moving at all for some time.
Still great few minutes spent with your dinos, overall it was very, very uplifting and pleasant experience! :)
@sandra-martinez : We wanted to do that, but ran out out time... The backgrounds do exist however!
