Interstellar Roundabout by sparrow-lynn

[raw]
made by sparrow-lynn for Ludum Dare 47 (JAM)

Andrea and sparrow's first Ludum Dare, fig and mountain's second. Accelerate/decelerate with up and down arrow keys, turn with left and right. Drive through the roundabout, hit the random switches to open the gate to the next portal.

Ya that's definitely stuck in a loop, not the one I was thinking this game jam would produce

I found it really interesting and This makes me really want to see a full physics test of a roundabout car crash. The music choice was a bit meh-ish but trying to not hit the other cars was really fun(?) (missing word here).

I will say though that the collisions detection seemed to be a bit on the sensitive side for the resulting reaction.

Little basic, but French roads simulator non-the-less.

Nice entry, some cool music too. You could have let a bit more space beetween cars for beginner levels, and then densify the traffic. Thanks for this game !

I tried to be bold and go reverse, died instantly. Very good theme interpretation!

Great use of the theme and, while I wasn't particularly thrilled about the idea of a traffic roundabout, you made it feel like a daring adventure. The car handles really well for the gameplay objectives, letting you feel comfortable to make quick maneuvers but it's still clearly your fault when things go awry - plus the fender-benders were always kind of satisfying to see.

Haha wow controlling the car is crazy hard, but makes it so rewarding when you finally get it. Major gripe is having to move my hands from the arrow keys to the mouse to restart, needs to have a keybind for it.

moscow ring road.
lane movement would make this game easier, but more complex + you can improve this game by leaving wrecked cars on the road and making player replay every iterations.

the idea that mistakes from the first "loop" hinder you on the second time you go around works really well with the theme. The music was great it really fit the the rest of the theme.

Fun concept with good-looking graphics and music. Bit more juice with for example screenshake when crashing to other cars would make the game more fun.

Good job. I like the idea. The movements felt a little choppy though and traffic could use some more variation and difficulty so the player needs to figure the traffic patterns out.

This game is really meditative, I like the combination of the slow moving cars and the spacey music.

I love the idea! Its a really fun little game, I wish it would save your progress per level instead of restarting from 0

Nice take on the theme. I would prefer WASD to move. Nice entry!
