The last hope by WalterGK

[raw]
made by WalterGK for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

Travel diary: I don’t know how much time passed since I went on sleep mode, or either how much distance the ship travelled. I hope that the other agents reached somewhere safe. All I know is that the WUAA system (wake up at arrival) initiated, what means that I reached a potential new home for the human race. I must scan the zone and protect the life plant from any hazards. This plant is capable of producing anything I need to recover the human race, from ammo, to full humans clones.

The window on the HTML5 window seemed too small for the UI but thats a small issue.
Love the theme and the art style. Great job!

very good idea, but could use quite a few touch ups. sensitivity slider (i played the html 5 version so idk if it has one), html5 version is zoomed in weird, and ammo is way too limited. good game, but needs some improvement.

needs some balancing, but love the swamp animations

Really like the animations and art for this. The purple haze and music fit well. I felt the movement was too slow. I had to hold down sprint the whole time and even then I couldn't confidently strafe enemies. Fun to play, but difficult to stay alive for long duration.

The art reminds me of the classic DOOM games, overall, the game plays nicely.

The UI on the browser version is quite broken. Perhaps i should have downloaded it instead. I had a hard time figuring out how this ties into the theme of the jam, but it's still a very solid game.

Definitely have to download for the best version. Enemies look awesome. I love the art style. I think a melee to knock groups of enemies back would be really handy. I felt a little out matched and they quickly cornered me against the wall where I was unable to escape. Wasn't quite sure what I was doing in it but I enjoyed playing! Great job!

I like the aesthetic of the world a lot here. As others have said, a sensitivity slider would be nice, but I think generally I'm not very good at these kinds of games so I found it quite here. The music seemed a little strange at first, but I think it sets a really nice mood that fits the alien nature of the world and the chaos of the gameplay. Good work!

_(Played the browser version since I'm not on Windows)_

The art was great, cool visual style and colour choice - really like the retro fps feel to it.
SFX was nice and punchy, music was interesting and upbeat.

An option to change the mouse sensitivity would have been nice as it seemed way too high for me, coupled with the swaying movement this made the controls feel really odd and floaty.

It wasn't super obvious that I needed to protect the plant, an indicator or something visual would be nice to draw the player towards it.

Would also have liked some kind of enemy/damage indicator since those little ground aliens kept attacking me seemingly out of nowhere and it was hard to pinpoint where I was taking damage from.

**Bugs: ** If you spam reload at the start you can decrease the clip count to -3 and then can't reload even after collecting some more clips.

Overall pretty fun to play, its fast paced and the core shooting mechanics are solid and feel good alongside the SFX - nice job.

So very nice ma bruddah

Nice traditional FPS! I was hoping for more precise aiming, somehow it was very difficult with the type of camera this has. Still a overall solid game, very diffcult as it should be. The music was a blast :D

Felt pretty solid, I really like the art. I think an indicator of when your being hit might be nice, as I found myself dieing a lot to monsters behind me. I never really felt like the plant was that much in danger, I'd always die first haha. All in all though a good entry.
