Save the last egg from sure destruction!

CHANGE LOG: Added ".Trim()" to a string so that the level will end. Level 2 and 3 are now playable and the game will end. END OF CHANGE LOG.

Hi! Thanks for playing my game! This is my first Ludum Dare, and I think I bit off more than I could chew O__O

On top of that, this is my first time making a top-down shooter. After hearing the theme I remembered this idea I had about making a top-down shooter where you can dual wield guns, aiming in 2 directions simultaneously. It was a challenge to make the aiming feel intuitive, but I'm happy how it turned out. I can think of a few improvements I'd make to the mechanic, but maybe for another game, another day.

After finishing up the game-play I did not have much time left for the art or animations, so the game looks a little basic. But oh well you live and you learn. I'm happy with the mechanics of the game, and the gameplay is ok. I wish I had time to animate the game a bit more, and add sounds to give the player a bit more feedback.

I think next time I will try make a game thats a bit more basic, and more well rounded. Alternatively I'll team up with an artist and join the Jam :)

Cheers,

Nathan.

The Two guns are a nice mechanic! Really fun trying to hit multiple enemies at once with some cool trick shots, wel done!

A very ambitious entry with loads of variety. From my perspective it's pretty clearly unfinished, but for the amount you took on, what's there is solid. Also, your art is some areas is excellent. As a veteran of Ludum Dare, I'd say you can call your first one a success :)

I had a lot of fun with this game! I could see you improving it with different modes. Endless mode would just be a "how long can you last mode" and then have a normal leveled mode. Needs a point system. You could spend points to buy upgrades/ammo/health. Great concept and something you could roll with!

Hi, I like your mechanic with the dual wielded guns and the different weapons you have. I would have wished a little more "juiciness" for my shots and when I get hit ^^ the first time I did not realize you could move left and right, so that I did but did not know why, until I understand the orange things are barriers xD But I like your idea and was waiting in the end for the big boss! Maybe in the future you add one with some SFX and you have a nice little game!

very interesting shooting mechanic. Definetely needs music with tempo and SFX. After you add that stuff I believe this game will be awesome.

The scroll wheel aspect is too sensitive, at least on my mouse.

@thatothernerd its programmed that one scroll click to change forward or back. I think its your mouse unfortunately. But you can use the number keys instead.

Nice submission for your first LD. The gameplay is good. Adding animations and sound would as you've already mentioned do wonders for this game. Good job!

This was really cool! I can tell you put a lot of effort into the dual-shooting controls, and it paid off -- they're really fun to use! With a faster pace, this would make an awesome bullet-hell, especially if you added some enemies that you had to shoot in two places simultaneously. Great work! This was really unique!

Didn't like the aim mechanic, but the game is good and there was nice variation in the enemy types.

Who doesn't love pistols akimbo. I really liked the gameplay of simple shooting and auto scrolling. I liked that as time went own I started to see some new enemys like the guys that stop and turn into turrets. I do wish that there was some sound to give more of an impact to the shots though.

The dual wielding system is super innovative! Would maybe have been easier to use if w/s controlled the angle between the two guns instead of the mouse, but still pretty fun!

I like the gameplay overall, but needed just some kind of ending or ramp up of difficulty at the end. Thanks for the entry.

Cool Idea, using two Guns this way and nice implementation of the controls. It felt intuitiv the moment I figured out which keys to use. Some kind of sound would have been nice, but Overall good job, good game.

this is actually a lot of fun, great for a first game. it really needs some juice being a shooter, like slo-mo or even just better animations. still, great job 👍🏿

Great game!
The dual pistol mechanics is really well done. I didn't use it much in the end, since it seemed more effective to fire straight ahead instead. But I think is a great concept that you can use in other games
Levels feel a bit long, specially considering you cannot pause the game. Sometimes I just needed to take a break after some intense fights.

Great work!
