Call of Planty by zirconcode

[raw]
made by zirconcode for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

Our third member, Art Director Dave must also be credited =)

Save humankind by keeping the plant alive while it grows. Make sure it doesn't dry out with the watering can, defeat enemy ships with the shotgun and clobber flamethrowers with the baseball bat.

Controls: Switch weapons by clicking on the buttons in the right bottom corner and click where you want to unleash hell upon your enemies (or water on the plant). You may also switch weapons by using the hotkeys 1 (watering can), 2 (shotgun) and 3 (baseball bat).

Quick reminder to get more players: Use a thumbnail for your game. Otherwise your game is presented with this grey box. Some great Games are not played because of a missing thumbnail ... You can still change it by editing your submission page :)

Nice game, This game is quite good, and I really enjoyed it once I got the hang of it. The only major problem I faced was that there were no instructions, other than that this game is good.

This game was really ridiculous and has left a smile on my face. I quickly caught on to what I had to do, and had a lot of fun playing and jamming to the sweet music. Good job!

Nice game ! I'm not fond of humour consisting in insulting the player, but your game works and can be played.

The background music made me sad but I was cheered up by the sun's facial expressions. Art proportion could be improved and adding instructions might also be helpful but otherwise cool game.

I didn't really enjoy the gameplay. It was incredibly simplistic: choose the right power and click. There's no real decision making, and nor is it an engaging reflex challenge. The need to click a dozen or so times to destroy the flamethrower tanks was annoying, but without that the game would've been even easier and it was already pretty easy.

Perhaps the hotkeys were the issue? If I had to go back and forth with the menu it'd be annoying but there'd be at least some challenge. Maybe if the flamethrowers came from both sides and the planes came from all angles?

The art was certainly unique- I'm not sure if I'd call it good, but it was attention grabbing and it wasn't bad. The song fit well, but the lack of any sound effects was noticeable (though the sheer repetition of doing the same action so frequently is potentially worrying)

Interesting artwork! The music is great and it would be better to have some sound effects.

Gameplay was very simple..... hitting the tank so many times felt a bit overboard.... I liked the music though.

Very surreal! The artstyle kinda reminds me of RedPilotSun. I like the concept, but it's really simple. I wish there was more to do than just watering the plant and shooting/batting occasionally, but three days to make a game isn't a lot of time. Still, the graphics are rad and the music is cool, nice work!

@pretzol @notgreat The initial idea was to make it a multitasking game where you manage multiple enemy types with different tools. Unfortunately, our programming department didn’t have that much time, so it turned out quite simple. We still had alot of fun though. Thank you for rating :)
