Pico-8 charm is hard to resist. Core mechanic is naturally enjoyable.

If pitfall and duck tales had a baby this is what would come out, albeit much harder. It's a game...plain and simple. Not much more to say than that.

The game feels really polished considering that it has been made in 48h. Very fun to play even though I'm not to good at it. I guess I'll have to invest some times to train my pogo skills

Nice spin on an endless runner style game! Controls felt good, wasn't too easy/hard. As the speed increased the obstacles seemed a little jumpy. Well done on adding 2 player. I also really liked the transitions for "how to play" and "credits". Well done!

This game is super cute and has a really polished look! The level of difficulty also felt fair. The sound effects were nice, though I would love to see music included in a future version. Great work!

I found the actual game very hard to play, but the live tutorial was really cool. It was a little odd that sometimes you had to use x and sometimes c, pick one already! but yes, giraffes!

@melonking C and X are used interchangeably because when both were X the engine read the input twice (even though I was checking for a button press) and so I would need to add some delay to the input or change the input source, I chose the latter.

Beautiful Game. Smooth controls, cool Menu and a difficult, individual Runner. I like it

I thought it was really fun. Managed to score 36000 points before a giraffe got me haha. I thought the movement mechanics were quite interesting and deep. Would love to try this on multiplayer at some point.
Good job!

@ludipe Thanks! You've got a score greater than 32000, so I'll tell you a little fun fact. So Pico-8 is 16-bit with first bit being reserved for the sign, so the maximum possible integer is 32767. When playtesting I realized that after some training it is not that hard to get above this barier. When you go 1 above 32767 you have nowhere to go but to -32768 so you could get a negative score. At first I wanted to make a negative score achievement, but then the game would end cause it couldn't really track your score afterwards (negative score would feel weird to beat) so instead I append "00" to the end of the score, so sorry your true score is mere 360 :D

I like the idea of using giraffes! They are cute! Ad that fact that when the guy hits the spikes he does it by his butt is funny.

Good game overall, cute graphics and easy to learn. Local co-op was a good feature so its nice you managed to add it in. I felt like the difficulty should have increased a little faster but it was still very fun to play non the less.

@jimanzium Yeah, in 48h I didn't have had enough playtesting and so specific numbers for the frequency of blue coins and the amount they sped up the game were just guesses based on intuition. Also since coin spawning is not much scripted sometimes you get almost no blue coins for a long time and other times you get a lot (I once got five) in one spot.

I like how your game has easy controls. But what I really appreciate is how you managed to come up with obstacles that fit your simple controls. I especially liked the giraffe -- not only was it cute to watch, but it was an obstacle that challenges both time (the continuously scrolling level) and position (the height of the player and the giraffe).

Simple and fun! This is definitely one of those games that make great time-killers. Thank you for your experience.

Hey, this is quite a little hidden gem here!

I really liked it, simple and easily understandable mechanic and controls, cute graphics (oh, the giraffes!) and good progression, really important on this kind of games. I would like to try multiplayer at some time.

I don't really see how this fits on the "mood" category however, but you did a great job overall.

Really simple and fun, well done! Honestly that's the kind of game I thought I wouldn't play for long, yet once I started I spent 20 minutes in it. This could easily replace the T-Rex game from Chrome

I'm always a sucker for a good Pico-8 game, and one of these days I'll make one. I found the obstacles a little jumpy once the speed got high enough, and I found myself wishing the movement carried a bit more momentum.

On the whole though, I think you've done a great job creating some interesting uses for a pretty simple mechanic. It was super easy to understand and get into, and deep enough to hold my attention

Nicely made! I appreciated the tutorial area to get the hang of the bouncing. I liked how much movement control there was if you were careful, sometimes that little boost was just enough! A little more speed and height variety to the challenge would be even more interesting, but you made it very approachable and quick to learn.

This was fun but super hard I think. Maybe if the controls were a bit "snappier" I think it would be easier.

Fun concept and great visual style. Simple and striking!

This is great - as someone who's done 1000s of walkmaster levels this was exactly the kind of game we like. I can see us getting addicted to this! Great idea and nicely put together. Well done and thank you!

Pretty fun in 2 player mode. Though, maybe the frequency of blue coins could be increased for 2 player mode to make the game speed up more.

Very good game! I love how you have added local multiplayer as it adds a lot when people want to play together. the controls were good and the boost was good for remaining in control while still in the air. What confused me is accept switches between x and c. Also the the ground and giraffes move at different speeds. Overall a very good game well done!

Pretty fun! The gameplay is solid and feels fair in general. The graphics are clear and cute, although I would welcome a lot more variety. And some music! Reading the description, only now I realise that the speed ups were connected to the blue coins :)

But I'm bad at those precision games :(

I liked the graphics a lot, especially considering the limited screen size on the platform.\

Well done, keep up the good work.

This is cool - it's like Flappy Bird meets DuckTales from NES.

Some music and a bit more general juice when playing would be cool! Perhaps some flying horizontal enemies as well?
