Stuck in the system by FayLee

made by FayLee for Ludum Dare 47 (COMPO)

Hi friends. This game is the first work of my Ludum Dare adventure. I'm so exciting that I finally finished it. This is a puzzle game about helping a food delivery man reach his or her destination. It only contains two levels to play, but I believe that you will understand who it works. Have fun!

The windows download link seems to be wrong, it's directing to the edit-page on itch.io.

I tried to click on the itch link and it gives a "page not found" message. I think you provided the link to the "edit" page. Is this the correct game here? https://faylee.itch.io/ld47/

Too bad the link doesn't work, I would have tried your game... :(

used the link @sop-the-turtle linked to.

the game actualy is quite fun, but it took abit time to fully understand how the buttons affected the different roads and stuff, understood it alot better on level 2. for some reason level two was alot easier xD

Okay I tried the game and it was very difficult to understand. I think it would've been helpful if you had let it sit for a second after you fail or prompt for a retry. This is because I didn't have enough time to inspect the board after I would fail to see what I had done.
However, this is a good concept and pretty fun. Just takes some learning how it works on my part. I hope you continue to build more fun games!

hi,@sop-the-turtle, thank you for playing my game, your advice is very helpful, actually it was still lot work for me to make the game more understandable at the end of the jam ,but I was running out of time. I'll take time to polish the game and add more level in the future.

@brice-mahier, sorry for putting the wrong link, I've changed it to the correct address. I'm a new player in LD and I was not quite familiar with the publish process, sorry for wasting your time, play try it now if you have free time, thank you.

There's a lot of information on the screen but most of it doesn't seem to explain how to play the game. Could really use a slow ramp up with extremely intuitive levels first, because I don't understand why things are doing what they are.

BTW, works on Linux with Wine. The game is.. kind of buggy? When the vehicle moves, you can still click on the tile it's on to rotate it, making it possible to cheese the puzzle into winning. Sometimes, the vehicle doesn't follow the road, or sometimes it kind of leaves the puzzle board and floats into space. Despite the bugs, interesting game. The music and sfx are good, and interacting with the puzzle is explained pretty well I think. Good work!

Pretty fun, took a bit to understand exactly how it worked, as the instructions weren't super clear, but I beat both levels. I like the art style and overall it seems like a cool concept, good job.

It took a while to figure out what was happening with the colors, but once I understood it was fun! Level two was a nice challenge, and I managed to get it on the first try without restarts. I definitely agree that showing the screen after you fail would be helpful. It's a cool concept and nice game, though!

The first level is a bit rough since it rotates the tiles you're currently on by default. Takes a bit to get used to and requires some quick reaction times if you try to do it in real time. I tried again and found a way to solve it so it works in real time. The second level actually made a little more sense because I could see how the systems worked in action rather than failing immediately. Also, you have to right click on the tile to change the color, not the light, but the light is what changes, not the tile color. Also, the board resets whenever you fail, so you have to re-do all your changes if you were just off by 1. Are you supposed to actually be able to rotate while the game is running?

What @sean-holloway said. I was somehow able to complete the first level, but I wasn't able to determine when I'll crash and when I turn around in the second. Would need further explanation. Looks good tho, feels polished, save for a few details:
Left click on the dot inside block doesn't always register, and you could also leave the layout you've set after restarting. It's a bit tedious to set the board up every time you fail.

I dont understand, how the colors influence how the pieces rotate

Quite hard to figure at first. You should not reset the level after a fail I think, as I was ALMOST at the solution but needed to figure out again and again what to move, without forgetting anything. Otherwise, great idea, quite original !

@wabble the colored button will trigger the same color land to rotate.

Very cool puzzle game! Was a bit hard to understand at first, but after some time it was very fun to play! I'd be happy about even more levels

I tried a few times, but I really didn't get it. This game really needed a tutorial of some sort.

Cool puzzle game. But what I thought was that it's so hard to understand the rule. I recommend you to add tutorial to your game description. You can change it right now too. And one more thing is that I played this game on WebGL but I couldn't play the game when I didn't set it to Full screen. Did you set the UI setting to Scale with Screen size ? But with that said it was super cool game. GJ

Nice game but very hard to understand. I managed to pass the first level but gave up on the second. It would be a lot easier and more fun to play if the level didn't reset after a fail.

I tried and i have some points to say : it seems that the HTML5 link and the Windows link are the same, in my case i have to put the game in full screen because in other case i cannot click on the start button (that's maybe due to the size of my monitor). I really tried but i didn't pass the first level, i am frustrated because it seems really funny :) Anyway you made a game in three day, it is a nice first ludum and i hope i will see your game in the next one ;)

Hmm... tried the web build and it seems bugged. The driver totally ignores rotation and just keeps going straight half the time, no matter where the road is facing or if there even is a road at all. (driving off-screen, too)...
