Logo.png —NOW UPDATED TO ACTUALLY WORK!—

:lemon: Lemons! is a deck-building “save the creatures” game loosely inspired by the classic computer game Lemmings.

Protect your Lemons are they march toward their doom by placing helpful objects. However, the objects you can place are randomly drawn from a deck of cards YOU build!

Each level you complete will earn you gold to buy cards that are unlocked as you progress.

NOTE: Mac and Linux builds not tested. I just packaged the output Unity gave me... hope it works!

Controls:

  • UI Interactions: Mouse
  • Place Item: Left click
  • Flip item: Right click
  • Move Camera: WASD (Be careful, there are no bounds and you can get lost) NOTE: You can't place items if you are hovering over the GUI! Move the camera!

Last minute bug fixed (Done during submission hour): - Fixed collider for ramp item - Increased camera movement speed to a reasonable value - Fixed the booster card not functioning properly - Fixed issue with scene management/level loading

Sadly Mac build isn't working I get stuck when I push the confirm button on the 2 scene in the game.

I think you might have a bug in the windows build. I bought the bridge and clicked confirm, but the game doesn't start.

All I saw was a Bridge card. It didn't appear that i could do anything else.

Not sure if user error, but I couldn't get past the card screen. Looks fun though!

This seemed like a really interesting idea. I wish the build was working.

Sounds like a great idea but I can't get it play. I can buy a bridge but then it won't let me press confirm

Hey guys, I have uploaded a new build fixing the issue. Thanks for the heads up! I know you all must be busy and have lots of games to check out, but I'd really appreciate you giving Lemons! a try now that it's fixed. Thanks so much.

The idea is really interesting, and the graphics is overall pretty good. It is sadly often really difficult to able to place anything. Overall a fun little jam game.

@funisfun8 came back to try the game. I really like the idea, and i can see tons of ways of making a really cool game out of this idea, like having to overcome obstacles with really unconventional means just because you didn't draw the ramp card soon enough. Definitely could also use a fast forward button at times.

the idea is not new, but nice. wish it had a fast forward button, so you won't stay in a level for a really long time to finish. graphics are cute :)

I liked this take on lemmings, it's a good fit for the theme this LD. I would say, overall, my experience was let down slightly by the speed of gameplay and physics implementation (lemons often got stuck on objects) and the fact that the solutions to the puzzles felt simultaneously very forgiving, while also very restrictive. In a sense, you could really make lots of mistakes in a level, and then spend enough cash to buy your way out of losing a few lemons. The fact that the balancing factor for this is not being able to place things in the space lemons are occupying (and that they occupy a lot of space after a while) seems like more of an incidental factor than a designed one. That all said, I think the visuals were nice and I like the basic idea of deck-building (though a mini-map of the level before the game starts would have made a lot of sense). Thanks for the game!

i think you have missed great opportunity to make squishing lemon sounds especially when they fall

I like the graphics and the whole idea! However, I'd add a speed-up button because the game feels a bit slow once you get the hang of it. I don't know if it's a problem with the build, but there were no sound effects here. Maybe you could have done some simple ones with your mouth. Keep it up! This game has potential! Haha

The placables being in a deck of cards is a cool mechanic! Had to restart a few times because I placed things slightly off. I wish there was sound, but otherwise a nice entry!

the camera is a bit too slow and a bit of music and sound effect could juice up the game experience but overall it was a nice entry

In my opinion "the booster" would be a litter better earlier in the game, because once you build the path all that is left to do is wait.

Cool game, but everything seem a little bit too slow. It's hard to place the elements sometimes, and when you manage to put a bridge, lemons get stuck in front of it. I loved the idea nonetheless !
