Satelloop is an infinite arcade/resource management game about surviving on your Satelloop.

You're on board your satelloop - floating among asteroids. These asteroids are both your lifeline and your immediate danger. Mine resources from the asteroids with your drones, but make sure to destroy them with your drone if they get too close. Your drones can be used to repair your Satelloop as well. Creating drones take time and resources, so manage your drones carefully!

Controls and How To Play

(There is an in-depth tutorial in-game if you don't want to read all these.) - A/D or Left/Right key to move around. - Left Mouse Button to shoot a drone. The more you hold, the faster you shoot. - Right Mouse Button to shoot a retrieval hook. RMB again to pull it back. If the hook attaches to a drone, you can press Left mouse Button to detonate the drone (you lose it), or Right Mouse Button to pull the drone back. - S/Down/Space to interact (Flip sides on a flip hatch, turn on/off drone generators).

  • Asteroids will destroy parts of the ship if hit. Flip to the inner side and shoot a drone there to repair that part. This consumes the drone.
  • The drone limit (how many you have in hand + how many are active total) are shown on screen.
  • Drone Generators show how much longer it'll take for them to produce a drone. More active drone generators consume resources faster.
  • Game is over if you run out of fuel or your satelloop takes too much damage. Score is number of days survived.

Made by Diptoman Mukherjee (Programming, design), Pranjal Bisht (Art, design) and Joel Montpetit (Audio) for LD47.

NOTE: HTML5 versions may lag a bit during the tutorial.

I like this game in all aspects: it has challenging, but pleasent gameplay. The mechanics are intuitive and the sound/visual effects greatly help. Keep it up ^^

A fun game with great music and art! There were so many actions, it was good you had a tutorial  I was almost overwhelmed, but the music kept me going!

Fantastic game, quite tricky to play, but I guess I just need more practice

Very polished game with great graphics and sound. The game play was super smooth and satisfying. The random nature of the asteroids meant that I lost droids more quickly than they were replenished though. I had to blow up 4 asteroids in a row because they were going to hit the satelloop. Nice idea and execution though!

Excellent mechanic :) Takes a better take at some of the games I have played. Small addon -> I had to zoom out on itch web build to properly see the game. Probably a build issue. Flawless execution though!

This is really nice! I found the tutorial quite overwhelming and took me a while to get used to it, especially the repairing part. Maybe try making the tutorial a little slower. Like, let the players get used to movement, shooting and retrieving for a while and then introduce destroying and repairing.

Great job overall! :)

Realy fun and addictive gameplay loop. I liked how drones come back without rmb if you have a hook on them and they are nearly out of screen.

Could be better with some more loops. Like upgrades or diffirent lvls.

Cool game, always though this type of game would only make fun in multiplayer, but actually single player is also very fun!

Great game! One of the best submissions I played here so far. Fun to play, with original gameplay that isn't too hard to learn, and the soundtrack is amazing!

(I could imagine there being some station upgrades that'd let you craft miniguns and whatnots. That would make me happy.)

Excellent job!

Graphics are good and the music is catchy. I'm amazed by all the interaction you can do.
controls are very easy to understand even without a tutorial.

I always enjoy space games that don't revolve around blasting things. This was a creative take where you had a lot of options and things to do. Very polished as well, great game!

Actually pretty cool. Having to manage everything at once can be tough. But it seems kind of well balanced. Also very innovative

Really cool and great graphics. Maybe a few too many mechanics for a arcade game. On my run I easily defended everything, got 1 impact but never bothered to repair it. Then sunddenly it was game over because the energy run out.

Thanks for all the comments fellas!

@hoolop @kuro @sayuri The original plan was to have an upgrade station (to upgrade slots/generation rate etc.) and a turret station. Expectedly that was too much for the scope and we concentrated on the core bit instead.

@keyurrana Understandable - there's a lot to learn. The tutorial doesn't progress until you do the specified actions though so you should have time to screw around with other actions you learned to test them out. But yeah, like always, it could have been made much better with time. :)

@reallyqbert Yeah, could always be more balanced. Did you have all the generator buildings turned on? I find that helps in the later levels to always have 5 drones + 4 as backup.

It's always disturbing (the controls) this kind of game where the character walks on a sphere XD
But, it's a nice game !

Super fun.. The polish is mint. I think there needs to be a way to ensure I have enough drones.. No matter how well u play you'll always find you're outnumbered.. I could find myself playing this for hours.. But I must rate more games.. Great job btw!

*Edit* after playing some more.. I think it might be balanced pretty well, as is!

This was really well polished and the mechanics were very, very interesting. It feels like you managed to pack a lot of depth into a very concise package. The audio in the tutorial was incredible, but it seems that the backing track went away after a while. Also, I noticed that if one mouse button is held down and you click the other you can cheat the speeds a bit. Those minor gripes aside, this was a really fantastic entry. Great work!

@morrilet Thanks for playing! I've only seen that music issue happen once - would you happen to know under what circumstances it stopped? Were you still in the tutorial when it happened? Were you playing the HTML5 build or the downloadable one?

@diptoman I had just skipped the tutorial after I got most of the way through it (after repairing) in the web build, actyally. Not sure if the tutorial is meant to repeat once you restart (hit r, not refresh) but I kept having to skip the tutorial - maybe that has something to do with it? Hopefully that helps!

**I really liked this game!** Everything about it seems to have been extremely well thought out, from the great on-boarding tutorial to the actual gameplay. The idea of having to deploy the drones to collect energy, and others to defend the satellite was pretty great. The graphics and music were also pretty clean and catchy, and the game really nailed it down on the space-atmosphere!

I did run into the issue with audio that was already reported by someone before, where the music just suddenly cut-off. I was playing the Windows version, and had just restarted for my second playthrough. The music cut a few moments after I skipped the tutorial. It didn't return afterwards, so the third playthrough was only SFX. Still, listening to the game music during my first playthrough and as I write this review, I can guarantee you its a great tune! :musical_note:

I can't really see much flaws in this game overall (I was a bit unsure how to rate the humor category here). While the mechanics were on the safe-side, everything worked as intended, and the balance was very good. I fell towards the end it was a bit hard to balance energy with the speed I had to deploy drones to destroy the asteroids, but that's common as far as arcade games go.

**My final highscore after three playthroughs was of 323 days!** Almost a full year, but I couldn't quite pull it off. Seeing you guys profiles, I can tell that you already have some experience in this rodeo, so I made sure to follow and I look forward to seeing your projects next time around! Thanks for the great time, and cheers! :whale:

Great, game! I didn't understood how you are supposed to get enery, until I checked out Elysias stream (but also no one else seems to complain about that, so that might be on me). Playing it with retrieving energy is much more fun :D.
