Satelloop by diptoman

Satelloop is an infinite arcade/resource management game about surviving on your Satelloop.
You're on board your satelloop - floating among asteroids. These asteroids are both your lifeline and your immediate danger. Mine resources from the asteroids with your drones, but make sure to destroy them with your drone if they get too close. Your drones can be used to repair your Satelloop as well. Creating drones take time and resources, so manage your drones carefully!
Controls and How To Play
(There is an in-depth tutorial in-game if you don't want to read all these.) - A/D or Left/Right key to move around. - Left Mouse Button to shoot a drone. The more you hold, the faster you shoot. - Right Mouse Button to shoot a retrieval hook. RMB again to pull it back. If the hook attaches to a drone, you can press Left mouse Button to detonate the drone (you lose it), or Right Mouse Button to pull the drone back. - S/Down/Space to interact (Flip sides on a flip hatch, turn on/off drone generators).
- Asteroids will destroy parts of the ship if hit. Flip to the inner side and shoot a drone there to repair that part. This consumes the drone.
- The drone limit (how many you have in hand + how many are active total) are shown on screen.
- Drone Generators show how much longer it'll take for them to produce a drone. More active drone generators consume resources faster.
- Game is over if you run out of fuel or your satelloop takes too much damage. Score is number of days survived.

Great job overall! :)
Good Job !
Could be better with some more loops. Like upgrades or diffirent lvls.
(I could imagine there being some station upgrades that'd let you craft miniguns and whatnots. That would make me happy.)
Excellent job!
Graphics are good and the music is catchy. I'm amazed by all the interaction you can do.
controls are very easy to understand even without a tutorial.
Good Job
Great job !
@hoolop @kuro @sayuri The original plan was to have an upgrade station (to upgrade slots/generation rate etc.) and a turret station. Expectedly that was too much for the scope and we concentrated on the core bit instead.
@keyurrana Understandable - there's a lot to learn. The tutorial doesn't progress until you do the specified actions though so you should have time to screw around with other actions you learned to test them out. But yeah, like always, it could have been made much better with time. :)
@reallyqbert Yeah, could always be more balanced. Did you have all the generator buildings turned on? I find that helps in the later levels to always have 5 drones + 4 as backup.
But, it's a nice game !
*Edit* after playing some more.. I think it might be balanced pretty well, as is!
Love the concept.
The only thing I didn't like was the hook speed, too slow.
Good job
Enjoyed it!
•Graphics are cool
•All ellements of design are polished
•Signes and feedbask are realy clear.
•Good sound fx, maybe a bit repetitive.
•Solid concept and good theme using
juste healing mecanics is not very intuitive.
Good jobs to the team
**I really liked this game!** Everything about it seems to have been extremely well thought out, from the great on-boarding tutorial to the actual gameplay. The idea of having to deploy the drones to collect energy, and others to defend the satellite was pretty great. The graphics and music were also pretty clean and catchy, and the game really nailed it down on the space-atmosphere!
I did run into the issue with audio that was already reported by someone before, where the music just suddenly cut-off. I was playing the Windows version, and had just restarted for my second playthrough. The music cut a few moments after I skipped the tutorial. It didn't return afterwards, so the third playthrough was only SFX. Still, listening to the game music during my first playthrough and as I write this review, I can guarantee you its a great tune! :musical_note:
I can't really see much flaws in this game overall (I was a bit unsure how to rate the humor category here). While the mechanics were on the safe-side, everything worked as intended, and the balance was very good. I fell towards the end it was a bit hard to balance energy with the speed I had to deploy drones to destroy the asteroids, but that's common as far as arcade games go.
**My final highscore after three playthroughs was of 323 days!** Almost a full year, but I couldn't quite pull it off. Seeing you guys profiles, I can tell that you already have some experience in this rodeo, so I made sure to follow and I look forward to seeing your projects next time around! Thanks for the great time, and cheers! :whale:
