Developer comment:

So little time to make so much. This was my biggest game yet. It still need polishing and balancing, also I've put an effort to make all the art and music stuff in short period but overall, I'm happy with the results. I would most appriciate if you could share your thoughts on the game in the comments. And Thank you for playing the game and reading this :) !

Controls:

A and D - move left or right

LMB - shoot from a gun

E "in front of an object" - (hold) fuel up the generator / (press) light back up the light source

Fantastic game. Really enjoyed this one. The pixel art was great. I had one or two issues with the bullets flying off in odd directions if I shot while standing next to the generator. No other issues found. Awesome entry

Really awesome game, nice graphics, well balanced with a mix of mechanics to make it interesting, good difficulty, fun to play.

Cool music and sound effects too.

Not much to say, just great work!

Nice game! I like graphics. And you have whole inventory shop there! Beated a few levels, but didn't get the fuel thing.

Good looking game, it's quite tricky to manage. I think i lost a fortune shooting the shop button ;P

Had fun playing this one! well designed. A bit slow at shooting but it's ok. Overall it's a great game, well done!

Very well put together. Sprites are great, and the effects (lighting from torches, smoke from pipe) are very cool.
I found the pace to be very slow, I think you could benefit from making the first levels more challenging.
(Also it appears you can still shoot while refueling)

Really cool game only issue was that the fuel meter didn't fit on my screen, maybe edit the default screen size on itch? introducing more mechanics as the level progressed would be cool too if you had time.

but still a good game with great art and music.

The pixel art was so good! I wish things paused while I was buying things in the item store.

Nice!

The art is wonderful!

The gameplay is simple but really good, having to both handle the incoming waves and the fuel is nice uwu

I actually only have one single complaint and it is that the game could use more sound effects (when picking a coin, reloading, killing an ennemy etc.)

Anyway, nice entry, well done!

This game was very fun. I loved the store and the mechanics. I wish there was a pause button though.

Loved the artstyle! It was fun and deceptively easy at first, then nerve-wracking! Really easy to forget about the fuel

Love the style of the game! The initial window was too big for my laptop so I had to zoom out a few times to see the whole game, but then it made a lot more sense. Great work.

Very good fluid animations, with nice details.

Sometimes, acessing the menu would fire the gun, perhaps a shortcut or deticated key would help.

Pretty Good.

My first reaction was: Why do I want to shoot spiders and why aren't they moths instead? Though I would rather pet than shoot moths. But that probably more reflect my status as friend of small animals.

I got a few rounds into the game but only after I had given up I realized that the "home" icon was actually not something to take me to a menu or such, but a shop icon. And that I could upgrade my lighthouse! I think it might have been beneficial if available buys were listed on screen directly. There seemed to be enough space.

Equally, it took me a while to notice if anything happened when interacting with the generator. I was expecting changes in the world or something more dramatic (or at least that it was that yellow arrow that should be moving), but a simple fix could have been to have the UI for the lighthouse fuel levels be on the right side / same side as the generator.

In general though a quite fun game.

@local-minimum I totally agree with you ! On this LD I was so into the programing gameplay rather then spend some time on making audio features when interacting with something to give the player some kind of feedback on what they're doing. Of all those 72 hours I spent 2 on making gunshot sound and background music, which I'm not very pleased with :\

Nice jam entry!! Loved the art and gameplay! Sound effects were really cool!! Polished very nicely but I was rather terrible at it :D, couldn't get past the first four rounds.

this is a nice entry. I have a few suggestions for this. this could make a real fun game easily. this idea have been tested over and over because it is proven to be fun!

- the firing and the pace is too slow I think. maybe you should be able to fire more but also have more enemies and maybe they can take multiple hits.
- when you lose it should tell you why lost (I didn't know why couple of times)
- I think IMO shop items should tell you what they can do. so you weigh your options

I like the setting and the character art. nice one!

Great game; terrible movie adaption. When will movies get video game adaptions right?

Nice game. It would been nice to have key to open the shop and something to tell player if the enemies are attacking the generator. Overall a really polished and fun game. Good job!

Neat idea. I included it in my Ludum Dare 46 compilation video series, if you want to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/Kfcxq_4FEeU
