Mobodo by Revetoon

[raw]
made by Revetoon for Ludum Dare 47 (JAM)

Your life cycles in a loop. Can you manage to break free ?

This game was created by us two: Revetoon and JojoPalambas. It's our second Ludum Dare (the first one being LD46) and we are happy to present you our work!

Synopsis :

You follow the life of an unknown human, which seems quite ordinary at first, but things start to change miraculously. Watch a cute story unfold before your eyes while you help this human make his ways through this seemingly endless life cycle.

A lovely experience and a charming story that fits the theme very well! For me, it shows me two different perspectives of being "stuck in a loop," positive and negative. A very creative way to tell a story and I can't really find any faults with it at all. Well done!

Style and music meshed well, asset reusability was put to good use too. I think the mood was the strong suit here, well done!

Lovely game and great interpretation of the theme. Loved the little bits of interactivity, the scenes were all stunning and the music supported them extremely well! Well done :).

nice graphics and mood, I would have put more music, but it's my personnal taste ;), there is time where i didn't quite understand what i had to do. Maybe some hint woud have been great. Otherwise. I Really see the loop on that one. Great job :)

Heya! Thanks for submitting your game to my stream [twitch.tv/drjavasaurus)[www.twitch.tv/drjavasaurus]. I had a great time playing it. It's one of the more "deep" entries. I loved the mood and the mystery, every simple scene was like a cool mini puzzle to figure out. The mind drifts to think what could happen next and it all followed in a logical sequence, combining into a proper story. Loved it ! Very well done !

I've played through it and I don't know if there are any branching story paths.
While playing it I was frantically scanning the whole screen and clicking on every object as there wasn't any clear indication which objects are intractable until they suddenly light up when pointing at them. It was frustrating as a player that there were multiple scenes with no interactions.
I know that the time scope was too tight to make more things to happen, that push the narrative forward or not.

Great concept, like the idea and the plot very much!
Tried to get different endings, but there is one, am I right?

@badabooom63 Thank you for playing! Yes there is only one possible ending, but the chronological order of events to get there can be changed :)

It's so cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute! :D
I like the fact that I have to look for objects in the environment that are going to do something. I guess if you had the time you would have added a lot more. ^^ Especially for the parts where you don't have anything to do except wait for the time of day when there are things you can interact with. If you update this game, I think it might be cool to add "useless" but just funny interactive elements, to have something to do in those moments.
The loop of the daily routine is something that may come to many people's mind, but each in his own way to interpret and realize it, I really like the way you made it! ^^
I love the fact that it feels like you're talking about real-life events, or at least drawing inspiration from real-life events (I guess! Even if I hope that the dude didn't really pull the crank on the subway for fun? xD).
Thank you for this cute little story! :D

PS: I think you like realistic fabric plugins ;P

@matlab Hey thank you very much ! :)
Yeah looking back, we would have loved having more interactable elements in each scene, even if they don't have any utility, just add some liveliness.
We wanted to focus on narration (through non textual clues) and graphisms for this game and I'm happy you liked it !

This is really cool. I love the rendering style and the art, it works very well with the story.

The music is nice too, the clichés work very well. Fitting the heart-rate monitor in the hospital room into the bassline was a funny idea.

Wow, this is extremely good! Another game on the yet-to-be-rereleased "Favorites Of LD47" list. I love the variety of different musics, and I know some people will disagree with me, but the graphics are fantastic! There's character and style in the simplicity of the art.

I enjoyed playing this. Very similar to one of our initial ideas that we scrapped for something else. Good execution. Had fun spam clicking all over the screen XD

That was really cool! The only thing I took issue with is I didn't realize I had to drag down on the emergency stop; everything else I interacted with via clicking (I figured it out after watching @666savior's vod, which is were I first saw this game). It was pretty cool playing as a poltergeist with limited ability to influence the world. I don't think I've seen that before.

Fantastic little experience and a perfect game-jam game. Great job!
