A simple game where you hit the right keys on your keyboard fast enough to proceed. Keep the shareholder's returns alive!

Please let me know what you think of the balance. It should be tweaked so you start to get to ~level 5/6 by your third run, and you should be able to beat it with a few more tries after that, but it might still be a bit too hard.

There is a bit of a twist this time around, @abregado and I had an idea to do a game jam together where we: - both use the same main assets from an asset pack (this time it was https://kenney.nl/assets/generic-items) - brainstorm the game idea together - and then work separately on the same game idea to see how we diverge

Then we remembered ludum dare was on the same weekend, so we just combined the two. @abregado's game is at https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/46/amaze-on-game, give it a go too!

I feel this was a much better mechanic than what i came up with for the same game. The character moving around the screen gives the feeling of hard work. The bathroom breaks were comical but felt like a short moment to regain concentration. On the last day I had a toilet break between every item just to annoy the boss!

Interesting concept for a game. I was confused at first until I realized that I had a bathroom need. Though I understand why the game pushes us away from using Amazon, I cannot say that I can avoid that while the military posts me overseas. Not enough online retailers ship to APO addresses. On top of that, a lot of what I buy I cannot buy in the local economy. I will keep this in mind as I return to the states, though!

Fast paced, fun game, that besides having toilet humor was also thought provoking.

Completely unrealistic: How did I end up with almost 1500 bucks in a job like this?
I like the criticism of the "system" here and the nature of the game gets that across really well. It was stressful enough for me to feel a bit like I was walking in that worker's shoes while not being stressful enough to make me want to stop playing.
And toilet humor. Every game is better off with toilet humor.
Nice game overall.

I feel like the bathroom breaks were not needed, the game was fact paced enough already as it was. I like the concept of the game but it felt like it got very fast very quick, I think that maybe easing into it would make it better for newcomers. Good stuff!

@billehbawb Yeah, I tried a lazy version of easing you in where I just made the first request last for a long time, but it probably should have had the whole first day be slower, or something more aggressive. Thanks for the feedback!

it is a lot of fun to play the game. I think the days are a little bit to short. I love the critic you within this game.

Enjoyed the game a lot. it keeps you on your feet and works on your reflexes. The humour associated with it is great as well. Overall i loved the game and would wanna see it brushed up and published as a full game

I loved the frantic feeling and how you could just barely get that item out the door! Challenging, while remaining rewarding! Excellent experience!

Very creative game causing you to have all the keys on the keyboard memorized for you to be efficient. The bathroom break meter was a little too discrete and could use a little more 'in your face', 'hey Im about to piss myself' type urgency it deserves. Sound effects or additional warning signs related to that may have helped. Overall, very fun game, and I enjoyed the challenge of memorizing each area.

This is brilliant. It’s challenging, engaging gameplay that also does a great job of getting its message across. Fantastic work.

unique controls scheme i haven't seen in any other submissions, fun and quick paced game.agree with some of the other comments that the bathroom break can be a bit easy to forget about, perhaps an audio cue when it has a second or two left could help provide a last chance for those fast enough

I found the understated bathroom meter to be quite interesting. I played the most part of the game just looking at the item and having the rest in peripheral vision. The letters for the items can be memorized quite easily, as long as you know the name of the item, so that was quite fun in the end. Regarding difficulty, I finished on my first playthrough after soiling myself the first two days, but it was very fun to play. I think the bathroom mechanic should be explained a little better in the beginning, this way I didn't know what was happening the first few times ^^

That was a lot of fun. I had like two or three days in a row that I kept forgetting to the bathroom, I ended up with only $120, oops. But it seriously was a lot of fun, and the writing had me just curious enough to see what the end twist would be. Well done!

I can imagine getting really into the game, operating at 1,000,000 miles an hour!

Nice stuff :)

I totally didn't expect a typing game! :open_mouth:

Great job, the fast pace made for a challenging game.

The only problem was the bathroom meter. It was far away from the gameplay area, so it was a bit hard to keep track of it while playing... I ended up failing 3 days because of that.

Great Game! I don't know what all the meters were at all and just kind of ignored them and seemed to do fine. I love the idea of the typing letters to access different sections! great job!

This was a super unique idea for a game! Having to memorize the keys and patterns to get items as quickly as possible really sold the feeling of becoming a menial Amazon worker.

The gross fart sound is :ok_hand: haha! I really enjoyed the challenge of remembering the combinations of keys. They were all aptly named and predictable. I would have liked the bladder to be more visible as it would sneak up on me, but then again it's been awhile since I've peed my pants so maybe that was a good decisions lmao. Great submission!
