The curse of Ah Puch by THeBEKA

[raw]
made by THeBEKA for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

The prophecy says that from a golden egg will elapse a new god, a god of life. Ah Puch (mayan god of death) doesn't want that, so he sends his loyal army of corpses to destroy the egg. You are a mastermind of 5 warriors who fight in order to keep the egg safe.

p.s. two more people worked on music and sound for the game but they have no account on the site so I just mentioned them in credits inside the game :)

The game's graphics are very well designed and the game play flows smoothly. Just one question, Do the warriors level up each round or does the healer get weaker? I could see that the effectiveness of my healing was decreasing and I just wanted to know how it works. Great game though, it was pretty fun to play.

This is really cool. I love Mayan things and this captures it.

The game is cool, but I think that the AI should be focused on the egg instead of the defenders around it

The graphics are very nice and the premise is good! One thing though; because selecting your characters is the same as moving them I ended up getting a bit frustrated because I wanted to select a character to move, but misclicked and it caused the other character to move to that location. Maybe make the selection right click and the walking left click?

Other than that great job! :)

You had a pretty cool idea there, and the artstyle and music fit the theme of the game really well.
I agree that a separate button for select and walk would be helpful, but other than that, nice game!
I also liked the unconventional way the tutorial was presented ^^

Really nice game, I can only suggest more polish. An easier way to select/deselect, variation in enemy mechanics, particle effects, just little things.

Beautiful game you've made here - I thought all the characters looked great, each had their own unique style that made it clear what it's purpose was, and they all fit into the world nicely. I would suggest to make it a bit easier to select individual and multiple characters - I ended up just selecting all of them and moving them as a group, but if I could select specific characters or groups easier I might be more inclined to split them apart to take out enemies from around the map.

Also I think you could find a way to encourage different strategies maybe by incentivizing players to move around the map - I found myself just making all 5 guys just stand on the platform for most of the time waiting for enemies to come to me - maybe have bonuses and powerups throughout the map?

But I think you all did a really great job, impressed that you made 5 different characters all with unique abilities and animations. You should be proud of yourselves, congratulations on making a game in a weekend!

The game's art looks polished and the music was a blast to listen to. Kudos for menaging to create a lot of characters, enemies and other art in such a small amount of time.

One potential bug I've encountered: the enemies sometimes do not engage the egg and focus on the warriors instead, even though the egg is closer to them.

Cool, a wave based defense strategy/tactics game! I like the multitude of units available, though I would have liked to see a unit group control. The tutorial is genious and a artform of it self :smirk:
