The Island by Sanguis
The Island

Controls:
You will need your left mouse button to pick and right mouse button to cancel the selection
How to:
Click to buy an item from the bar. Place the object on an island
Placed object generates coins per X seconds
If you click way too much on the object, you will destroy it eventually
Clicking on placed object generates additional coin. You can unlock many items. You can also expand your island by buying a new tile
With each new tile, you will loose all that is on your island, and you will have to START WITH NOTHING again, so make sure to have some spare money!
Can you reach the Last Tile? Can you reach the Last Item from the list? SHARE SCREENSHOTS from your islands and show us who’s got the nicest Island out there!
This game is supposted to be relaxing, not challenging!

@appoxgames Originally we wanted just to pile on the new lands(tiles), but since we have a 'Start with nothing' theme we have decided to change that and that is why you have to start over again ;) Thank you for kind words and your time playing our entry
@laurens Thanks!
Unfortunately I couldn't unlock last tile :/

More audio would be a welcomed addition
My major issue was while playing that I lost the current island on upgrade - it kinda killed the motivation to play :slight_frown: I would much rather not lose progress (start over) but at the same time have increased costs of things I place (or something similar to counterbalance keeping one island)

*Note: I like my islands balanced, with a little bit of everything (and flowers).*
Also, I wished clicking on the tile button when you're on the last island did a simple refresh, so that I could try to build it differently a bunch of times, until I reach the perfect one. Right now I guess I just have to start again if I want to build a different "ultimate" island?
@kornel Thank you for your time playing! Loosing the island is the feature bound to the theme 'Start With Nothing' however I mentioned above, the original idea was different :) The sound contains just 3 tracks, and the truth is that the time pressure did not allow us to add more, perhaps with some future updates ;)
@mateusz-wojtkowski Whoa, thanks for sharing the screenshot! I am really glad that our game was able to start your day in a good way! And the last tile is just a blank fill of a feature we were not able to implement at the very end. Thank you for your time!
@jan5366x @redxet @treasonousflock @hydrate @lonewolfdev Thank you so much for stopping by and playing our game, we will make sure to return the favor! ;)
Really enjoyable
Good luck and again nice jobs :)
@furano Thanks! ;)

The graphics are neat, and while minimalistic (which i like), they are very pleasant and fit the relaxing theme. The game also fits very well in the jam theme. I guess that the music could only be longer as it is supposed to be playing on loop several times, in order to grant some variety. In any other aspects, i cant complain. Excellent job.
Just adding this here. I am still playing it. REALLY like this. The little touches of animation on the windmill and water are lovely. Sound is supportive but not too intrusive. Great stuff.
I didn't liked the music at all, found it really stressful for that kind of game.
The possibility to put stuff in the middle of the sea is a bit confusing too.
Good job anyway, that was cool :D
Designing my ideal little island was super engrossing, too.
Also beacuse this is idle clicker I started optimizing process really fast(not relaxed again :P).
I really like idea of idle clicker where you can do something creative so good job in this regard.
Nice entry overall.
Ummm. Cool game but...
@cpokered yep, we know, there are bugs on our island ;) Cheers
@burczy Thank you for the feedback!
@freypodgames @miu Thank you for sharing the screenshots, looking real good!
@koemeterion Thank you for playing mate, truth is that we could have done bit better job with many areas and the font size is defo one of them. Glad you had some fun though ;)
@mathemagician Really glad to here that you enjoyed the creative process. Thank you for the feedback and time with Our Game ;)

@yaroslav-kravtsov First of all, really impressive how far you made it just with the flowers :) and yeah we notice that function of RMB is not that obvious for some players as we thought would be :P Anyway thanks for playing and your feedback
@bocodillo you are right that the money optimization is not our strong side, we made either very hard or pretty easy coin models, so we stick with the easy option at the end since we didn't want this to became such a pain to get more coins. Well lesson learned, more planning upfront next time ;) Thank for feedback, much appreciated!
@redwiliax @almighty-games @smbe19 @falu Thank you so much for playing and the feedback!
Still, I like the concept and the visuals!
Also the "island size limit" is a key part of the game that isn't visible anywhere on screen, it really should be a progress bar somewhere.
@moechen Thank you so much! Glad that even those little things are notice-able :)
I'd like to talk about the audio part (which is my area): The music is very bad. Not the music itself, but how it is used. The game does not have much to pay attention to. The player just keeps clicking and waiting for the money to reach the limit to pass the level. The brain gets bored easily. I myself left the computer several times and dropped the game there. Since the game itself does not hold much attention, perhaps a good music can do this. My tips:
- Make SEVERAL short musics that keep playing randomly (like the "style of the moment": Lofi hiphop. Maybe others too).
- Make a great and interesting music that is looping (then review how long gameplay your game has and get a good time of music not to get bored too);
-Make music grow along with the island and unlocked items, adding instruments, tones, etc.
Sound effects would also be a good way to give oxygen to your gameplay. i miss that.
Congratulations again.

My favourite layout so far...

Yet another awesome game form you guys. Always a pleasure to play.

Came back just to upgrade to the max, and as there was nothing left to do, I just made my world:

*****
The graphics are spectacular! I wish there were calm sound effects for placing/clicking tiles, but the music was peaceful.
It's sad that you did not implement the last tile though. However, as is it's really well done. In terms of polishing, larger maps to counter that insane increase in wealth could be an idea. It was a bit underwhelming when I realized I got to 3x3 and that was it. But I did continue on to decorating.
An indicator to how much you can place would have been nice instead of strategically hoping you don't see the warning preventing you from adding more tiles. I assume it was infinite on the largest map (as I was able to forever build, or maybe did not reach a limit yet) but I was in fact anxious about my placements, trying to get in as much decorations as possible without seeing the warning limit reached. The subtle things go a long way I guess
Love all the creativity in theses comments though, I'll leave with my world here as well:

### I really enjoyed your game!
The graphics are awesome and the music really nice fitting the relaxing style of the game.
I wish I had more patience (I only unlocked the first 4 objects but still the experience was amazing!
The fact that you start with nothing at each new "level" was an nice implementation of this LD theme!
Excellent entry!!!
Second play-through and read the description for further controls: no problems here.. (on-screen controls for listing all the necessary controls will fix that)
Really cute pixel art, Nice touch on the animated aspects of the buildings and Lake.

I was hoping I could literally add a lake to the island on the 1st island. oh well :smile_cat:
I have no idea what lurks on the 'final-unlock'..
Suggestions:
- Animate all the units (at least with 'weathering' potential; trees, tents, shrubs, flowers..)
- Implement secondary tier of unlockables after attaining the lake/forest:
- lilypads
- ducks (random chance of swan or golden-goose or unlockable creatures by chance)
- Golden-goose lays golden-eggs for massive coins; or Easter-eggs?
- unlockable vegetation and variation for trees (apples, plums, pears, cherries)
- weeds (dandelions, japan-knotwood, etc.. [leave them to have it invade the field])
- forest creatures: squirrels, etc..
- Weather or Season (Winter/Summer/Fall/Spring)
- Sound effects at least for placing units, harvesting units for coins, etc..
- Sort-out the z-index sprite sorting issues (lower sprites above higher sprites; collided sprites compared z-
index and adjust as necessary)
Loads of potential for further expansion on this clicker entry! :dizzy:
