Lonely Fire by mde

[raw]
made by mde for Ludum Dare 46 (JAM)

You are stranded in the cold and dark forest of the northern tundra. Your only chance to survive: Upgrade your fire until it is big enough to attract help!

Gather wood and stone, drop it near the fireplace and click on the fire to craft tools - or upgrade your fire instead just like that, because higher fire levels enable you to craft more tools. Oh, and you win the game when you reach level 4 and get to see our awesome win-message!

Your energy bar drops when you are attacked, too far away from your fire or when you do exhausting chopping or mining. You die when your energy reaches 0 or the fire extinguishes. So remember to eat food (cooked meat or berries) to fill it up again, and put some wood into your fire from time to time!

I like your art style a lot. I tried to play your game without reading control in this post and it's turn out to be more fun. Overall, good job!

I liked the minimalistic style and progression in your game. Was a bit annoyed though when I double clicked to stock the log near campfire but it decided to put use it as fuel.

Scary! I enyoed playing it, only was missing one thing - how can i see what is my fire level?

Awesome game. It looks unique and amazing. Art and sound give it nice feel.

First time I played it I leveled up knife and fire which left me with too few stones to create pickaxe and I couldn't upgrade fire to final level. Perhaps removing stone cost from pick, while increasing wood cost would be better?

It seems we made almost the same game lmao. I love the artstyle, the shadows are really nice, and i do like the point and click movement, although sometimes it does feel kind of janky, as there isnt really any player feedback, maybe you could make the object turn white for a second, or maybe give it an outline when the player clicks it, just a little user feedback would do a lot!.The crafting is good, but maybe you could add more craftables, like a better axe which can chop faster, or you could just cook from the crafting screen to make it feel like the player is using it more often. Overall, I like it. Very well done!

The art style is super nice, simple but very expressive. I love the guitar too wich works very well with firecamp.

Really cool game. I love the art (great job with those shadows) and great music/sound effects. Though I did manage to bug out the tutorial by eating the meat before it told me to...

If you add any more features to the game, being able to queue up actions would be nice.

I enjoyed it a lot, good job!

the minimalistic art style was really well used combined with the nice shadows, the music and sounds were also great only problem is that the point and click control feels off sometimes but overall it was a great experience

Very cool. I love the graphics, especially the shadows. The animals are cute. I like that even if I die, I feel the need to play more and get farther! LOL @ description, now I really must try to reach level 4 :D Good job!

Really cool game, reminded me of Don't Starve a lot. I really loved the music. The visuals are simple, but efficient, no complaints there. The only issue is that the overall gaming area seemed a bit too small, after some time I've run out of stones and ultimately died before reaching the lvl 4 fire.
