Really like the zooming effect.
Aiming was kinda laggy, especially when zoomed in (nice zoom animations!).
Some levels felt waay longer than others, would prefer more snipers spawning and a faster pace.
The zooming felt a tiny bit off, but it's a really great idea. Maybe completely capturing the mouse and making it scroll quite a bit slower while zoomed in. Like other players I also unsure if I was doing the right thing; in ignoring all the silhouettes until I finally found a sniper and shot him. That said, the game also froze when I shot him, so I didn't realise there were multiple levels even.
I really liked the use of pixel art to be able to make all the far off people look the same, I think this game wouldn't have worked in a higher resolution because you'd be able to see who is who from a distance. Creative use of the art style!
I really liked how you had to keep checking in on the silhouettes in each window to see if they'd changed, once you got to the later levels, because it gave you more of a purpose than just waiting around - Along those lines, the only real critique I have is how long some of the early levels went on without anything to do. The first few levels were pretty slow, and didn't require the player to do much, which pulled me out of the tense mood that you'd set.
Overall though, this is a really neat game! Good job! :)
Perhaps it would be beneficial to add some sort of story and some different silhouettes for assassins.
Nice little engine, I'm sure you can improve this a lot after LD!
@ramperkash Thanks for your feedback! The zoom controls probably need to be adjusted a bit... but it was intentional to have them shaky and hard to manage to have also a bit of a motoric kind of challenge... The freezing bug unfortunately happens on Chrome at the moment as mentioned by someone before.. Have to look into that...
@natpat Thanks for playing! At the moment I'm really just using a really zoomed out big pixelart picture.. which sometimes causes random grey pixels which (unintentionally) give a away the rifle sometimes even in a zoomed out state. In a more polished version I would add special sprites and animations for the zoomed out version.... so it's harder to distinguish
@koolruz Thanks for playing and your feedback.... Yes at the moment the only thing I change between the stages is the number of people appearing at the same time and the total number of snipers.... The probability of a particular person being a sniper is always the same.... which causes the first level to be a drag if you're unlucky.... definitely a pacing point to be improved!
Audio seems to pop a lil bit on the browser, and it'd have been nice to be able to restart once done.
