Race The Loops by vinzBad

[raw]
made by vinzBad for Ludum Dare 47 (COMPO)

Race through loops and don't get stuck! Press [SPACE] to exit a loop. Native build works best, web build is a bit laggy. 2020-10-04 213225-Window.png

Really cool game. There a so many things I can think that you could add after the jam, definitely interested in seeing more!

Lol quite literal take on the theme. Nice job!

Neat little game, harder than it looks - but at least I got 5 digits in my top score. Would love to have camera adjusted so that when you are inside a loop you are more centered, my OCD kicked in when I had to keep looking at the bottom left of the screen. Design was very intuitive, yet simple - master class :)

@thooom thank you :) great feedback with the camera centering, when I'm deep into developing my game I stop noticing these things

Hi there,

This is a very neat entry. Sound was a great addition.
For such a 'simple' game, it was very challenging in the end to get a good score

I agree with rhoff, that this concept really lends itself well for adding things on to it and eventually make it in one of those mobile games that are great to pass the time with.

Good job and thanks for the game

Quite tricky to even do the first one at the start but once you get the hang of it its pretty fun. Maybe add an indicator on the loop of where to press to release, like a green line?

wow really impressed with how fun just a one button game like this can be!! i guess the varying sizes of the loops and your speed plus the right amount of difficulty is what keeps it from being boring. good job!

The game is very clean and well executed. You have also brought the theme to the point

The game works ! It's simple, it's clear and it have the little "rhythm game" part who work well, and even the the sound is not "super awesome" it's still lisenable after reaching high speed, which is something really difficult to achieve ! So congrats on that !

good: legit super fun. the camera movement and loop graphics are very smooth, and the sound effects are nice, so it feels really satisfying to play. I can see myself coming back to this!

bad: personally not a fan of the heart graphics. the start game/end game text boxes are also a bit ugly, and I think the score/speed display should be bigger. otherwise, awesome!

I think this is a game worth porting to mobile, if that's a thing you're interested in. would be fun to play when waiting for something, or you're on the train, etc.

Nice, clean aesthetic. I feel like you'd have a good rhythm game on your hands if you put some music over this and had each loop time with the music!

You're taking the theme very literally, but it works, and I haven't seen anybody else do something as simple yet.
