Love the concept, and it plays well, I haven't had the oportunity to play with another person, but looks like it could be really fun. Great job!

Despite the limited color palette, the graphics look really nice! I also like how the controls feel -- it's pretty fun to play

at home the game is bugger I do not know if everyone has this problem. In any case the design of the city is magnificent !! I will try to remember to create a graphically nice but simple and effective level! Well done for creating a game for two for this Jam !! Nice Concept ! Congratulations

Love the visuals of the game especially the lighting! Played it with my younger sister and we had a lot of fun! We had some trouble figuring out what the game was about despite the instructions. However, we managed to get it eventually and it got really fun. Great work!

Bro, I will give this game a very high score, because this is the first time I have called my girlfriend to play games with me, although she is stupid and impatient, the wonderful music matching gameplay can not help but Playing for a long time, the jumping of the characters is really cute like jelly, what I like most is that the characters control is very smooth, it is really great, I like you such a deep theme through the game, we all need love, we There is no way to leave each other because we are human

The graphics and animations for this were so nice, I really liked it! The jump felt very responsive and it was very easy to distinguish which platforms could be jumped onto from underneath! I didn't have someone to play with so I had to play with AI - The AI felt really good although it didn't want to spend enough time with me!

The game captures the difficulties in balancing a healthy relationship with other responsibilities well. Relatable and fun, great job!

Good to see other Godot games! The game feel, the graphics and the sounds are just great! Too bad, I could only play alone. :slight_frown:

There's one problem, tho: your viewport settings are not setup correctly, so on a hidpi screen the game looks a bit weird.

I loved the idea. Music is really nice. AI needs to improve. Really Good Job.

Go forward and start making levels. I'll be Waiting your game :).

Thanks a lot to everyone for your comments! Yes, the AI does not love us humans very much XD We'll see if we could improve its companionship circuits soon

Nice idea for a game, sadly can't play with my second half due to us being quarantined, but it was fun enough with the AI. The graphics are simple, but very pleasing, so I would say perfect for a game jam like this. I was a bit confused by the control scheme, but it makes sense considering it's a splitscreen game. It did feel the bar was kinda going down regardless of how well I played the game, but I understand that balancing these things takes time. More levels would have been cool, but again, time is a precious commodity. Very good work and hope to see you next time!

Couldn't play with the the other person, but it was still fun to play with AI. It wasn't very smart but still mamanged to play, and doing AI during game jam is still extremely hard job. So congrats! Loved the aesthetics of game: simple yet balanced and beautiful. Very very cool gameplay idea!

Interesting concept! The art looks nice and simple. Couldn't figure out controls at first as WASD didn't work and space or something more familiar than M for jumping would be good. Good job!

@apandso thanks for playing :)
Yeah, this is why we kept you stuck in the tutorial screen, and make you move the character there, so you get more familiar with the controls :D
We choose M since it's mainly a local-multiplayer game, and space might get pressed by whoever controls the WASD side of the keyboard :D

@ulcius yeah... imagine: PATHFINDING A* in a platformer where you can go down on the platform... in a jam... of 72 hours :D We just put it there, to help whose in quarantine that couldn't play with noone :D thanks for playing

@anahandley you're amazing!

@hare-software thanks so much ! Yeah, the game is fast so you kind of have the impression to the unfairness of the bar, but actually it's clock-based, everysecond checks if you two lovebirds are together or not :)

Thank you @dreamer , I am glad you shared a cute moment together with a stupid game like this... Don't let her see your comment though :D <3 hearts everywhere

just got on leader board with my wife @meme-310 . we played with controllers.
just a lovely game you have here.

I wish you were able to jump if your partner is on you.

I loved the use of the theme.
making the bar goes smaller if you don't collect is genius.

great job!

Wow, to be honest this feels smooth and I felt like re-playing and re-playing, which is rare for a GameJam game. Also plus for another Godot game!

Ciao @notapixelstudio ;) It is a pity that love and happiness are not included...but sound is romantic (a bit sad but maybe was your intent) and I love very much flat graphic and colours. Controls are not intuitive but I understand that the game would preferably have two players. Overall I can say that I like it!

The feel of the game is very nice - from music and graphics to the take on the theme! I liked it. Played with my hubby @kaisean-games, nice thing was as we played our hands interwove and it was kinda romantic too. haha
Good job!

I have no idea how my wife  rated this game, but I can second everything that she wrote.
Very nice idea.

The jumping was a tad clunky and one player would sometimes prevent other from getting to the platform, but it creates more of a fun moment than a frustration.

Keep up the good work.

Cute little game, we enjoyed it for a few minutes, but maybe some better goal would make it more fun.

I really like the concept (even with a synthetic lover XD) and I think that it should be really fun especially when there is a skill gap between the two players. I think it works perfectly as a jam game and the overall mood with the audio and visuals never breaks the immersion.

A really lovely take on the theme, well done.

We had a little trouble with the controls at first (we swapped our jump keys!) but otherwise it was a pretty smooth experience. The aesthetic was really nice too :)

Maybe because of the lag I had while playing but it bugged out several times, once my yellow player disappeared off screen, another time the blue and yellow got locked together, another time the blue player would appear in the wall.

It was hard to properly assess because of that. FYI: I played all three games using the AI Love and HTML5 version

I am fanboy-ing so hard: props for the unorthodox interpretation of "keep it alive" - props for making a co-op for a LDJam. Easily the funniest game that I played but that is because I love dry humor. I was never able to reliably get the 'down-jump-through-a-ledge' to reliably happen.

Really liked the graphics of this, and it's nice to see a co-op game made for this that also has an AI option (which is what I played with). I wasn't really sure what I was supposed to be doing though to keep the bar filled. I kept collecting the markers and staying near the blue player, but still the bar kept dropping and never seemed to fill up. Perhaps there was a bug? An interesting take on the theme though, and some really clean UI and minimal art style helped a lot.

Really cute game. Love the color palette! Also the gameplay is really cute. I like games with co-op and no violence. You should continue making the game, would play a version with more levels and story.

The concept is really nice, but the controls were rather unituitive - I mean - why use "M" for jumping? You could just use up and down arrows, that would have made the game much better.
Apart from that - the AI is rather bad. It didn't even TRY to stay alive. I suppose you didn't have time to fine-tune that (which I definitely understand :D), but I believe making that work could make the game pretty awesome. Definitely keep on developing the idea further!

@alexander-wayne , are you related, in any form, to.... Batman? :)

Thanks for the comment and for trying out the game. I can understand the confusion on the controls' scheme. But it is a local co-op game, mainly. We added CPU the last three hours to allow the chance to a single player... Implementing a pathfinding algorithm for platformer was too much :)

Great observation for the up and down arrows, but that, I think, is our bias. We personally prefer using another hand for jumping, so we needed a button in the 1st player's half keyboard. And that was the begining of the 'M' kingdom for jumping in this game

I really like this game idea but I need a someone to play because the AI loves walls more than me :(
Well that's not too different from RL

Good job!

25. Apr 2020 · 22:05 UTC
@notapixelstudio Yes, definitely! I AM Batman in fact, hehe!

Well, in such a case I would stick to the scheme of:
Player 1: Up, down, right, left
Player 2: W, S, D, A
-as is in the most games. But I suppose it is a matter of preferences.

@notapixelstudio I liked the game! The mechanics seems to be quite novel.
AI is not very smart, tho =)

I appreciate the fact that you managed to make the game look good even with simple shapes and colors.

Awesome !
Simple but nice concept !
My lover and I tested it, it's really fun !
Wish we could use "up" to jump more than using another key from movement :p (what does prevent you from using your other hand to push "up" ?)
And if you used "up" to jump, the game would be playable by one person, one square by hand, it would be harder but you wouldn't have to had a bot :p

And you have had a world wide leader-board, that's really cool !

Nice job !

Not the most entertaining game, but definitely interesting mechanics (design as metaphor, well done!) and happy to see a game being *marketed* specifically to couples (and friends). Giggled a bit at the fact that there's a 3+ polyamory option, but greyed out. Representation represent =)

I had some weird issues with the web version being small , but it didn't effect the gameplay really b/c the art was very clean and easy to read. I loved how you made the boxes stretch out when jumping, it gave them a lot of personality and then the sound effects helped with that too. Sometimes it's amazing how much that stuff can make a difference even though it's just a box.

I didn't last that long b/c I had an ai partner haha, Kinda impressed you had that as option for solo players. Most co-op multiplayer jam games I see don't have that option.
