Claimbeer by neowhoru
Claimbeer is a small metroidvania where you start in a dark room. You was drunken and got here in this dark cave but you don't know how you cam in here. You must get out of this cave.
You can collect your items and unlock abilities and things.
- Candle: Enlight the world
- Jump Boots: You can Jump now (with Space)
- Arrow: You can shoot arrows with X
- Dash: You can now dash with C
EDIT: Some points to mention - there is no savegame system (as the theme say "starts with nothing" and so you do ...everytime :)) and as it is not a the biggest world at all.
Also i made two major hotfixes (collision bugs). Just to note.

I found the 'hitboxes' for transitioning from upper levels to lower to be a little off. It was sending me down holes even when it looked like I was still on the edge of the platform (completely on the edge, by a character's width). That made it a little frustrating some times as I would fall when I didn't want to.
Also there were a couple of platforms on the screen to the right of the flippers I couldn't jump on.
I finished it without finding the bow or the "fast forward ball" - it was a nice little game I enjoyed playing
One bug was that when you jump up to a room and dash or move to the side i got inside the wall and had to restart. Another was some platforms was missing their physics body, so i fell through them. Otherwise it was a neat little with nice music!
But the other items should be needed to complete the game.
@emiliabea Currently not and as it was previosly planned as rougelike metroidvania. As the theme is "Start with nothing" i thought it would be Bad if you have everything 😂
But the Dash isn't necessary (it was initial planned to dash something with it but i had no idea what and why so i kept in as "just for fun").
BUT I like the sprites!
@m-dam yeah you cannot kill them (thats why you need the arrow). But i understand what you mean - thank you for your feedback :)
@simon-rahnasto thank you very much simon :) i trained the last weeks much - and did everything bymself :) i thought a little bit metroid (the NES one) like (but in a very smaller way). I am proud of it.. a little bit :)
Still, everything played well and the pixel art was very nice, a nice compo entry!
I got spooked the first time I walked into an enemy and died :joy:
There are solid graphics and sounds on this games. The combinations gives a nostalgia feeling of old console games and the controls works with precision.
Besides the falling bug, i also notice a small high pitch noise that occurs with some frequency, someties associated with the falling on ground noise, sometimes not, dont know if its something of the WebGL build, but is kind of annoying.
Overall, its a really nice game. Congrats on a good job!
Other than that, it's a solid entry!
I got stuck after falling into the floor after gaining the bow & arrow. I think I got lost somewhere on the transition between rooms.

I will try to fix it.
Music and sound are nice too !
Control are responsive, jumping feels good and you can succeed in precision jump even if your character is a fatlard so drunk it got home in another dimention.
Some platform are a bit sneaky with the lighting (which is innovative, I must say.) It could have been good to add a few checkpoint here and there (or lives) if you're going that way because jumping in the dark might lead you to death and to starting over again, which can build frustration. Especially if it feels unfair. Which it often does, because of the lighting since you must take leap of faith from time to time.
Got stuck twice because I fell into texture while falling from the screen above.
I had fun playing it and it has a nice aestetics. Very good work!
Some scene transitions were glitchy. The scene above this one was pretty weird. If you jump down in a certain way you can get stuck in the wall. I was able to escape by spamming dash.

Other than that, it was a pretty fun game. Good idea with picking up character abilities.
And the theme is funny :p
When I played this game, the movement seemed have so serious a problem that I wondered whether it was running correctly. I have now had the same experience on a different machine.
For some reason, after the player releases the movement key, they seem to continue moving for a good while too long, especially for a game with some relatively small platforms in it. Even more bizarre is the fact that the player doesn't even decelerate during this time of 'extra' movement. The player continues moving at a constant speed, and then suddenly stops.
This makes the platforming of the game rather frustrating.
In addition, the sound seems broken? There are some unpleasant beeps that almost sound like sound errors, they are unpleasant to listen to.
Overall, I think this game needed another pass on the movement, and audio. The idea of unlocking basic character abilities does seem cool.
Sorry for the frustrating controls (i know which issues you meant).
