The fire transitions and music made for a great atmosphere for the game!

Incredible graphics, concept and overall mood. Deep lore games don't interest me much, but this is incredible at what it does!

What a stunning looking game! I really enjoyed the concept and the art style, though a little slow for my taste. Great game!

I really enjoy the artstyle and how the smoke looks like. Wish one day I could make such fantastic arts

This is beautiful - and the graphics really go along well with the overall story.

Very unusual. The type of game you need to sit down and focus on. High marks for innovation, graphics, and mood.

That was seriously amazing! I'm blown away by the art and the fact that this was a full blown story! This was an awesome entry, and even though it doesn't exactly follow the theme, I'm still impressed either way.

I'm unsure as to the entirety of the gameplay, but it does look fantastic.

Nice mood! Art and audio are amazing! Personally it's not my type of game, but it's surely one I can appreciate. Nice job!

The graphics were absolutely amazing, and I'm really curious on how you did that effect with the smoke. Also a really interesting approach with the theme!

Really nice story telling, and of course love the fire effect!

I love the art style. I'm curious how you got the effect of the floating squares making the image of the isle appear as pixels even though it seems the actual image of the isle is larger.

Really great art and nice attention to detail (like speech bubble following player). I love the projector effect .The narrative is amazing. Great entry

Very polished experience! The storytelling and atmosphere was giving me strong Myst vibes, which is always a good thing.

An extremely interesting storytelling game! The fire was beautiful, the graphics were smooth, and all of the animations were simple, but extremely polished. I loved the pixels from the smoke, and the journal in the back was a good means of helping players keep track of progress - I know i certainly felt a need to get all of the entries, lmao. I did find there were sometimes where i found I was in a loop of exposition and couldn't find the way to the next major storytelling section, but overall the text skips were enough to get that part over with relatively quickly and painlessly. Likewise the walking was extremely slow, though in a game where it's certainly not the main mechanic, it did follow the pace of the atmosphere well. Finally, the lore of this island is extremely interesting, and this did give me a craving to see where the plot would go, so - kudos on that!

I am not a fan of this type of mechanics, but I enjoy worldbuiliding, so I found things to like here.

Anyway, personal tastes aside, this is very well-done! A good, solid, short experience. Gorgeous graphics and effects, great mood (as everyone said). All in all, one of the better LD46 games I played so far.

I can't really think of many suggestions. I found the pixelated text a bit difficult to read. Well, not really difficult, but somehow uncomfortable. (But it fits perfectly with the visual style of the game, so I cannot complain too much about it).

Congrats!

Stunning visuals and world building. Your art style might be one of the most beautiful things I have seen in this jam. The world building is illustrated like in no other narrative game ! In combination with that, I really liked the ability to navigate freely through the descriptions. Both the visuals and the dialogue were woven together to create some kind of story-based "level-design", and I loved every second of it.

Strengths :
- Great visual effects and dialogue system that serve the world building
- Fascinating Lore

Possible improvements :
- Some collisions issues with the book

All in all, great game !

Best visual effect i have seen so far. I also like the story. I remember playing your game Endeavor 10 years ago and it had a lot of influence on my own games.

Not sure what the gameplay here was, got really bored of the lore dump intro cutscene thingy (though the visuals were very cool) and kept getting stuck in a loop of repeating dialogue. The font choice made reading difficult and the lore was so filled with Proper Noun Exposition that I gave up trying to understand it after the first couple of questions and tried to skip it to the end.

Very simple and effective choice in game play. I loved slowly unravelling the mystery. It would be nice to have the play maybe try draw some conclusions to add more player input into the game but I still thought that this was awesome. :D

The writing is great, the visuals, revealing the island bit-by-bit through the smoke are compelling, fantastic job!

Took a peak at the source just so I could ~~steal~~ gently study that gorgeous fire shader. On a more serious note, what a beautiful game. Really fond of the post-cataclysm mythos, and the efforts made into the worldbuilding. Also, quite a clever interpretation of the theme. Unique gem.

Very neat visual effect with the smoke, and it seems like you've put a lot of thought into the worldbuilding here.

A great narrative entry powered by excellent graphic/audio features. The visual style combined with that tense music creates a really cool and unique atmosphere. I like it a lot.
