Heartbleed by terminal29
Heartbleed is a roguelike with a twist, you can respawn at the cost of your health.
Your goal in Heartbleed is to make your way to the bottom of the map while avoiding the obstacles and enemies along the way.
When you die, you can buy perks with the gold you have collected from killing the critters, like a bigger light source, quick reload, double shot, and faster bullets, and you can purchase heals too, however you lose your perks when you die again.
At the cost of an additional heart, you can respawn yourself where you died and carry on (if respawning would kill you then you cannot do this obviously), or respawn from the beginning without costing an extra heart!
Additionally, the more damaged your heart, the more gold is dropped when killing critters. Play risky to earn big.
What awaits you at the bottom of the cave? You'll have to see...

Really really nice!
There was a jump in particular that was very unfair, you couldn't see the bottom. Earning lots of money in your last life is pointless since you can't use it anyway, maybe you should be able to get upgrades while you're alive.
Overall it was a fun experience, congrats!.
the way the gun works is kinda.. weird, as the projectile changes trajectory along with you movements upon firing.
And the character moves a bit too fast which makes the low ceiling lava part hard to complete. But other than that, great game! keep it up
I liked the lighting effects, and the controls were good too. Sometimes the game could be quite punishing such as sometimes when I jumped down to the next part of the level I would land on a slime and it was impossible to avoid.
I don't think I understood the respawning mechanic as it seemed I couldn't choose the Respawn and Die options in the menu sometimes, but had no idea why.
But overall I thought this was a great game!
